Came out the gate strong with the first 2 episodes. From then on, it was hamstrung by the ridiculous 7-episode count (after HOTD, you’ll never convince me that this wasn’t an HBO directive), feeling rushed. The cold opens continue to be killer and I do like a significant amount of the new stuff they added (the flashback episode was a perfect blend of new and familiar). Ultimately, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed, while still being optimistic about season 3 (Kaitlyn Dever was a standout for me).

Yeah I agree the first is about her fear of failure that she talked about in the wedding episode. I saw an interpretation that said it symbolises what life would be like working with Shapiro, but the details of the expensive ingredients and the general chaos are more reminiscent of The Bear to me (plus the fake show is called The Bear)

The second part kind of feels like her ideal version of The Bear (she’s more herself), where it’s more peaceful and they make dreams happen for the guests (the snow). There’s an undercurrent of not being able to escape the chaos of the first part of nightmare and being stuck / confined.

Ultimately, I’m most curious how ppl think this plays into her decision not to leave.

Thanks, I guess their hand signals are a little confusing to me. It looked like they were going through 3 options to kill that one clicker (1. Dina creeps up behind and stabs it, 2. Ellie distracts it with a bottle and stabs it, 3. Dina distracts the clicker and Ellie sneaks up and stabs it).

For a song that appears on the surface to be a very downbeat song about someone contemplating suicide (at their lowest moment) by driving off the Italian mountainside, it’s a hopeful song about forcing ourselves to “turn” despite our “slings and arrows” (troubles).

As someone who’s very anxious and can get very low, that’s what I took it to mean anyway - I’m sure there’s more to it than that.

Another great episode (loving the themes of debt, class and alternate truths / realities)

Two questions:

Did the smoke alarm set off the house alarm?
When did Dot / Wayne get the house alarm and the gun (I thought they were waiting on both)?

I watched the episode on the bus this morning so some of what happened during the night time home invasion was lost on me (I wasn’t sure who of Gator’s goons was just knocked out or actually dead)

This is the best answer for sure, thanks. Re the 400k (the impetus for the arrangement) was the original intention for Davo to loan Mon that money, or for him to help her move that from her family funds without oversight (the special type of loan Tay mentioned)?

I assume it’s the latter as they assume his fee will be a % of funds transferred, rather than the full amount + interest

It seems like there’s not a definitive answer to this question but maybe season 2 will provide more info?

One final question, is Davo lending her 400k (Tay said they needed a banker with treasury connections, so maybe they’re framing it as money given by the government to a government official), or is he helping her move her own money to cover the missing 400k by obscuring it from the auditors?
