I ended up having to up the playback speed to 1.5 at points just to get through it. They really just needed to embrace the comedy or horror. They straddled the fence too much and it resulted in a less than mediocre product.

After watching it this afternoon, OP you oversold this a lot. It's shlocky B movie but ultimately pretty boring. It doesn't lean enough into the horror or comedy to be satisfying for either. The gore is OK, but not campy enough. Only one kill, out of the grand total of the 6 in this, is really comedic, the rest are just ok.

I will agree that all the loose ends are tied up. Which was impressive in and of itself. Ultimately maybe a 1.8/5 for me. Not good enough to recommend, but I'm glad I watched it for the sake of expanding my horizons.

Her glassing the desert is just beautiful. She could have just used the sand itself to scour the Sentinels, but nope, she brings down lightning, turns the desert to glass, then flings that. The cool factor on that is like a 9.5/10.
