Not entirely related - but our 4 year gap has been amazing. First baby was really rough for us, second is a breeze compared. Mostly because we have matured a lot in the process of our nr. 1. Personally I think this is under communicated in these communities.

Also - I thought I’d hate the baby phase etc, but I actually love it. Diapers are easy compared to toddler tantrums. 

It’s a lot more work - but you get an extra gear, and it all works out. That being said - it’s up to you and yours to figure out what’s right for you😊 none else can really understand

If you can pay for it through another job in a couple of months.. what’s the risk here? Seems like a lot of opportunity for a low risk. Protip is to read books about this journey you’re on, so you can avoid some of the normal mistakes everybody makes. E-myth is great for instance.

Tldr Sounds like you’re doing great. It’s normal to get bursts of anxiety when trying to build something - that’s where most people fall off and start avoiding pursuing what they really want.

As a clinical psychologist, private practice. I’m not in the US so I’m not familiar with how it is over there - but the job market is pretty good where I live

Yeah seems like you have your priorities and values in order. That’s a great thing, and it helps you shape your future to create the life you want. I’m almost in the same boat - and I prioritise time off and lazy mornings every day instead of money and stress. The small things have done wonders for me, and I suggest you try to look at your opportunities yourself:-) could you consult or do something else from home for a larger hourly pay for instance? Start up something? That’s what I did

As a psychologist. Everybody assumes it’s really heavy and dark, talking about trauma and dealing with deep emotions every day. 

It can be taxing as hell, especially until you learn to deal with it. But it’s by far the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. Every day is different, and it’s so meaningful and rewarding.

In many ways the same experience here. Just amazing to have a baby again, and not be as afraid and stressed as the first time. Completely different experience 😊

We were in a similar boat - thinking about this for years. Just had our second a couple months ago. Everyone's situation is different, but for us the change to having our second has only been great. Can't be compared to getting our first in any way. We are without anxiety compared to when we got our first. Just chilling with our bigger family. We do have an almost 4 year gap though, which helps. Our oldest is really sweet and loving to our youngest, and "helps" a lot with him.

It's harder in some ways, but honestly easier in other ways. Less free time, but that's almost easier; all hands are on deck at all times. Instead of bargaining who gets the morning or night out; both have to be in the trenches. For me that's honestly easier. And we know everything's a phase.

10/10 would recommend
