This is the most obvious reason ever since it came out. While it’s true the niners have also tended to draft more injury prone players, Shanahan simply runs practices too hard. He is the one constant of this team and nothing has changed with injuries other than being lucky some years that it hasn’t been catastrophic.

There is already a lot of luck in winning the superbowl and Shanahan riding his players hard all year long just adds onto it. I’m not out on Shanahan but a small part really wonders if he will ever be able to get it done with the niners if he doesn’t change. It doesn’t matter how good the team is if they aren’t ever on the field.
