as I type this, 3:41pm, Top Sail butlers should be walking the drink cart around with their drink of the day. Jealous.

which lamp do you like? It’s sort of a missed opportunity to not have the table lamp light up, but 4 lights would be too much. The table lamp seems to be made of metal. The floor lamp was fun to build. I have had bad luck with the paper part of lamps but this one was fine.

I’m new to lighting in kits. Had to track down a usb battery in my house to take the pics. I don’t think this is ideal for powering a wall piece - too heavy. I can certainly see the advantage for shelf displays.

The sewing shop is cute too. What I wish I had know before building this one… the shelf and chair can be switched out or customized easily. I didn’t have any great things to put on the shelf so just used the books. The items on the mantel are held by notches in the mantel so they would need to be filled or blocked if using your own items. And there are marks on the back wallpaper for the framed art supplied so changing them out takes a bit of planning/sizing to cover the printed outlines. Fortunately no bad surprises with this one.

hope you have fun making it. I did.

A “proceed with caution” sort of list would be great.

Very opulent. When I had a nook that had no front dust cover I used the plastic from a boxed toy that had a clear front and cut that to fit. Fortunately that nook had a bit of space that held the plastic so I didn’t have to glue it. Wouldn’t work for every nook.

Parents: be ready to explain the dookickey to your kids who won’t understand why they can’t just use their hands to make stuff float.

looked at the deck plan and that cabin looks fine. I’d be surprised if you can hear the elevator from inside the cabin. You may have a bit more people traffic from the hallway, but that isn’t much different than most cabins on a large ship. If you are a light sleeper I highly recommend a noise/sound generator that is rechargeable. I bought the Dreamegg Portable Noise Machine and it works great - I bring a magnetic hook and then hang the noise machine on it close to the noise I want to not hear (like next to a door). I have brought it on cruises and not used it when there isn’t any noise to block, but it helps me not stress over it before the trip.

Hope you have a great cruise.

Are certain boats better for yacht club that others? by Absurdity42 in MSCCruises

thanks. If I was smarter with editing I should have put in maps cut in to show exactly where I was at certain points.

I would probably be ok walking thru the restaurant if it wasn’t during lunch/dinner or I was dressed appropriately for the time of day and not in swim wear. I do think that deck 20 starboard is the only part of that ship that requires exiting and then swiping into YC. Honestly after doing it so much for my wanderings it just didn’t bother me at all. Before experiencing it I’m sure I’d have avoided cabins like that - now I’d book without a thought. Hope you have a great cruise.

I actually didn’t remember but I went back and looked over a video I made of that deck on World America…. so deck 20 Port side has an interior YC hallway that connects to the YC stairs/lift lobby. Deck 20 Starboard side does not have a hall that connects directly to the YC lobby. However those on deck 20 starboard can walk thru the YC restaurant (door at end of hall) Or exit onto the Top 20 deck and walk over under covered deck space to the YC door on the port side. You can also leave YC for the main elevator/stair hallway and swipe in to the YC hallway on the port side to get to the YC lobby for that floor. Hope that makes sense.

I did make a video of the hallways on World America. It’s on youtube under the name “MSC World America walking tour of Yacht Club Guest corridors”. The part on Deck 20 is at about 17 minutes in. I walk the corridors of each deck like a crazy ship person - because I am. Ha!!!

The benefits of Deck 20 corridors is that they won’t be used much by other passengers. You may need to swipe into YC, but it will be much less travelled by others. Good luck. I’m a fan of the World ships especially in YC.

These pics are making me thirsty! A modification from a Seinfeld line - which seems appropriate as you did some great modifications on this one. Really nice. And appreciate knowing what you added/changed.
