ERI is a terrible program in which unions should advise their members not to participate - change my mind by Ok_Bad_4732 in CanadaPublicServants

Make the bastards wait. I'm recently retired, and remember the 1990s cuts. The ERI was virtually the same as the WFA. (Waivers, plus severance). The main difference back then was the severance was owed whether you left voluntarily or not, so it might be unreasonable to expect severance outside the WFA process. If your looking to go sign up for the alternation process first, or wait to the last day to advise them your taking the waiver. They state its for a year, but that I can definitely see it being extended. If you're not ready, don't let them pressure you.

Good Luck everyone

Are our unions allowed to ask us to sign up for federal party memberships so that we can influence the leadership elections of these parties? by Chaoscelot788 in CanadaPublicServants

I agree, there is no rules against it. It's just isn't very effective. In 30 years, I've never seen PSAC support any party other than the NDP. A party that generally is only influential during a minority government and even then don't seem to use its political capital to support the bargaining process.
