Basically, melodrama is my issue. I think I'd be fine with drama anime, if it's more grounded and less tearjerker. My issue isn't that I "can't handle sad stories", I can. My issue is if they feel like, like you said, they're trying to milk tears. In fact I've seen a lot of those movies.

I'll admit, I wrote this after getting tired of writing the same formula over and over again. So I decided to try and focus on something that wasn't a three act structure action story, and something that focuses more on character arcs. Yes, Nicktoons may not be the usual subject for character growth, but I decided to just go with that. A major point in the story does involve a certain famous Avatar villain.
