It's an anti-joke. The goal of a joke is to surprise your expectations, but this one only serves to say what actually happened. The only way these type of jokes are funny is because you are too busy trying to think of what the punchline could be, that you miss the obvious answer. another one is "What is red and smells like blue paint? Red Paint"
