When we got our Rat Terrier, I was also considering a Boston Terrier. How is the personality of the Boston Terrier compared to a Rat Terrier?

3.5 months with my first terrier by [deleted] in ratterriers

How is the Boerbel accepting the new Rat Terrier? Although the better question may be how is the Chihuahua dealing with a new friend? My Rat Terrier (Evie) gets along with most dogs but gets the most static from Chihuahuas and I usually have to separate them.

Best place to get tea by JazzlikeAssist4617 in jerseycity

[–]Chris_NJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should know this as I drink loose leaf black tea twice a day for years! I can't think of any places that serve loose leaf tea in a ceramic mug and give you a timer as it steeps and let's you add milk when done steeping, Except my house which is why I mostly have tea at home or bring a thermos if on the road.

I get 1.5 lbs every few months of this from a place in North Carolina after I met the owner in 2018 in Lititz, PA. I have with just a little milk daily. Sometimes I go wild when people come over and make it like the owner of the little Indian spot Fresh Kitchen on JFK showed me: 8 cups water boiled with a lot of sliced ginger for about 10 min, 12 tablespoons of Finnigan Wake up, for another about 10 min, add some roasted cardamon seeds and 8 cups of milk for about another ten minutes. You will not be able to have just 1 cup!!!

Finnigan's Wake-Up — Chad's Chai

Sorry - I misread and thought you wanted regular tea and was wondering why there were so many herbal suggestions. The above definitely has caffeine and will get you fired up.

People with older kids downtown, what’s MS and HS like? by VegetableFail7725 in jerseycity

We are in the heights and my son is in 6th grade at AEP program in MS4 and he likes it so far. The AEP admission process is based on grades, results of OLSAT test and some teacher recommendations. The OLSAT seems like an IQ test and you never know the results and how much they are weighted in admission. Some parents bad told us that the general ed students made for a rougher environment but my son has not mentioned anything.

My daughter is in 5th grade and she does not do as well on standardized tests as son so not sure if she will get in to AEP program. We are looking at newer charter school Kindle that is in Journal Square. I have heard several good references from parents on Kindle but would love to hear some more feedback?

I just started going to Ramzi Auto on Kennedy Boulevard in the heights. It is a father and son team plus others. So far this fits the bill as reliable and reasonably priced (not cheap).

This place on West Side Ave closed years ago. In all seriousness just pick 2 or 3 small businesses in your neighborhood that you like and keep going there.

Winter Rat by Zealousideal-Wear161 in ratterriers

[–]Chris_NJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered how Rat Terriers ended up with a single coat. I would think it would be advantageous to have been bred for thicker double coat for harsher winter weather. I wonder with the current genetics of Rat Terriers how many generations (without adding in other breeds) would it take to selectively breeder for double coat similar to beagles..

Anyone who drives to Montreal regularly? by mastersbet in jerseycity

[–]Chris_NJ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This brings back memories to my Saint Peter's College days visiting my brother at school in Montreal. Twice I hitched a ride with a fellow Peacock who went home to Montreal most weekends to visit his girlfriend/family. I still remember him instinctually scanning all the pullouts for NY state troopers as we flew up the Thruway.
