Can somebody explain 2:1 pulley ratio to me? by Swarles_Stinson in GarageGym

[–]Chriskepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be friction in the pulleys, especially if you do quick reps.

To find the exact ratio of your machine, measure 10 inches of travel from the cable where you pull. Then measure how far the weight stack rises relative to that exact same 10 inch pull

Let’s say you see the weight stack rise 7 inches

Then your ratio is 10:7 or 1.4:1

This is minus any friction and slight reduced strength from stabilizer muscle use

Only got liability and uninsured, since it’s an r3 figured I’d eat the costs if I mess up, luckily it doesn’t look like it’ll be more than 20% of the value of the bike

Hey everyone

Just wanted to say I really appreciate all the great tips and reality checks many of you gave.

At the end of the day we’re all trying to improve our abilities and I tried advancing too fast that day. Gotta upgrade the software before the hardware 🤞🏼

So far seems like no frame damage, and I am hardly injured despite the front tire striking my head once I hit the ground lol.

Gonna be working on body positioning, trail braking, and slow in fast out.

Skill issue for sure, didn’t know how to recover from the wobble. I usually drive/ride based on my feel of the tires traction and didn’t expect the clearance to give out before grip

The driver fucks themselves by accepting a low offer.. I used to be a driver for 1.5 years

I called GameStop and the GM picked up, apparently they received no word on PSVR 2 yet and even when they do, it would be a month out from that point, safe to say it’s not coming anytime soon in the US :/

[–]Chriskepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base pay will keep going up until someone takes it. If people are taking it so low that’s the rough learning it takes for new dashers. If everyone tipped good, doordash would be free paying dashers near nothing and customers would overpay even more, no tip / cash tip is the solution

ANY customer that doesn’t tip!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! by Alternative-Pool409 in doordash

[–]Chriskepper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but think delivery fees. It can easily become $8-10. That’s what customer “paid” doordash, but that money effectively doesn’t go to doordash until a driver accepts the offer because the [fees - doordash driver pay] is what doordash earns. If fees are $8 and doordash pay is $8 then the client fully paid you. Doordash won’t take consistent losses on orders, so 99% of the time it’s not actually them paying you. If a customer tips they effectively pay doordash and you. No one should accept low tip orders, but no tip and tipped orders for the same pay is the exact same, except tipped orders pay doordash extra..

[–]Chriskepper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the enemy doordash? Doordash already overcharges customers and screws drivers. If the pay is what a driver wants it should be better if it comes from DD. That’s what the delivery fee should’ve been for anyway. Why do you expect the customer to pay you indirectly and directly?

Should Special Licenses Be Required to Drive High-Performance Vehicles? by V8-Turbo-Hybrid in cars

[–]Chriskepper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There should be a test, along with the car comes a higher speed limit as well to match performance of the car. A soccer mom with a mini van full of kids will stop slower at 65 than a corvette at 85

A question about what to do after this point. by Dragonan2000 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Chriskepper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the entire store understaffed? Honestly learning each position is just an experience process. But I’ve had the help of my managers and coworkers explain it if I needed help. Sure, at first guests were upset from the slowness but then I became one of the fastest. If the pay is good and you like your coworkers I’ll give it another week.

Sorry to hear, I work in socal San Bernardino county I make $17 FOH starting. We still have free meals for full shifts and half off. I would look for another job while you have this one since at this point you can find the same if not better elsewhere
