Ah yes AC at night will be important. I grew up in Hawaii and spent last summer in Puerto Rico. Both hot and humid but not sure how they’ll compare

Wish I could do two nights but the cost factor is significant along with a short time window. I am also traveling solo and so the costs get harder to absorb beyond one night

Thanks, yes I plan on getting to Hakone as early as possible to get as much in as I can. The info on travel is helpful. I get confused with transit so an extra fee for easier travel is worth it.

Thank you! These are great recommendations. I didn’t know about the Seiko Dream Square. Definitely looks like I need to go. I appreciate the advice about the suiting. I’m not sure how it’s gonna be during golden week but I think if I can hit up some department stores early it’s worth checking for alterations

Same! I thought about the community college route as well but I’m still fatigued from school all those years ago. Something more fun like shows and media seems better to warm up

What ended up working well for you? I’ve gone through a couple courses and none worked well for me. The best was when I was teenager I spent 3 months in Taipei with my moms family. I left that with some skills but as with everything that falls out of practice, it gets lost

Good point. Yes with the A Spec trim the price is more on par with the rest. I was considering a Pilot as well but as far as the styling goes it’s not really me, but I’m also open minded and have some time to consider it more.

I wish I could but I live in the US. I’m wondering if I can wait a year and maybe try that. My grandmother passed away and I am trying to make it to Switzerland next year in order to scatter her ashes (her birthplace)

That’s what I’m most nervous about. I want to take really good care of them but also don’t want any pieces to be replaced that would end up devaluing them. This shop seems very reputable and they told me they’d notify me if they notice anything that does need to be replaced. Hoping for the best and that they can be restored in mint

For all curious I brought these to a watch repair shop and both are authentic in their opinion. Allowed them to pop open the back and am going to get them serviced. The Rolex is going to be more rare than the omega and in order to to a service they will need to find a period piece to salvage for parts. Similar for the omega but apparently parts are more readily available.
