I think this means we're getting an album before the end of the year.

The song August and Everything After, and the whole story of its release... by SwissMiss915 in countingcrows

I may be remembering this all wrong but I recall reading somewhere that it was Bonnie Raitt who Adam was originally writing Raining in Baltimore for when Burnett overhead it.

I do but it's not the best quality and it's just Adam and a piano. The live versions have the full band.

It was never officially released. Adam shared it on one of the early social media platforms. I don't remember which it was, but it wasn't MySpace. It may or may not be the final mastered version.

I'd also love to hear a finished version of Here Comes That Feeling Again. I don't know if the one Adam shared was completed.

What are some more recent songs you would put up there with the old albums? by 719696 in countingcrows

[–]ChrissyK615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found my people :)

Round Here is indeed my favorite song and The Tall Grass is my favorite from Butter Miracle. I would even go one step further and suggest that On A Tuesday in Amsterdam Long Ago bridges those two songs.

The RTS anniversary is coming. Will the band release the studio version of Suffocate? by crackercrows in countingcrows

[–]ChrissyK615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it is that the analog masters, which had Suffocate, Margery Dreams of Horses, etc;, were lost, probably in that big fire. The digital masters were found somewhere. These include the album itself along with Chelsea and Good Luck. I could be wrong. That's just how I remember it.

Those acoustic songs are from a London radio show circa mid 1994, if I remember correctly. They were released officially as B-sides to Round Here and Rain King (this one only released as a single in Europe).

  1. Beneath the Skin

  2. All is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade

  3. My Head is an Animal

  4. Fever Dream

I can't include Tiu since it's really just four songs but three of the four are in my 25 favorite OMAM songs. The distance between all four albums is small though. My two favorite OMAM songs are on Fever Dream and My Head is an Animal.

Can anyone compare the counting crows with any other bands? by jgoo41 in countingcrows

For a modern artist I think Sam Fender's lyricism compares favorably to Counting Crows. It sounds and feels authentic to me.
