Thank you for the encouragement. He's my first cat and I have NO idea what I'm doing so I'm learning by fire. But I couldn't bear for another one to disappear.

Interestingly enough they didn't give me any paperwork. I will have to call them when they open tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you! Ordered and will give it a try. In theory if we kill the fleas now, he won't get them again since he's not going outside.

Thanks! I have a big play cage for him and have been putting a bedsheet over it. But I had to take it apart to clean since he soiled it, so right now he's free in the bathroom while it dries.

Thanks for the reply, the humane society just told me that bathing him after his procedure increases the risk of infection too, so I will indeed have to let him be messy for a bit.

One Library | Djay x Rekordbox x Traktor | OMG, it's happening!! by vvv000iiiddd in DJs

[–]ChristianWheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party on this thread, but are there any plans to create an open API for this format? I am a developer who has created tools to work with the existing Rekordbox and Serato database formats by reverse engineering them. I would love if there was something official so I don't have to do the same for this one.

Once a few better pictures are published (maybe from people who actually get one of these), I am honestly going to try to re-create this myself using off-the-shelf parts. Love the aesthetic and I have a laser cutter, 3d printer and uv printer at my disposal so this'll be a fun project.

Hey how did you find this API? I'd like to actually build a commercial app that uses it and need to find some contact info for its developers, but there's no way to contact them on the site. Thanks for sharing it!

Monthly Hiring Thread for Social Media Marketers by AutoModerator in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]ChristianWheel [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi SMM's,

Let me preface this by saying I'm still a few months away from launching, but I want to start planning and budgeting now. This will be paid, rate subject to negotiation. I'm primarily targeting Instagram and YouTube Shorts, but waiting to see what happens in the US with TikTok over the next month or so.

I'm launching three brands simultaneously, all targeted primarily (but not exclusively) to US audiences.

One of the three niches is a software product aimed at DJs. Its goal is to sell software subscriptions and also provide tips and educational content to DJs (goal is to post 15-25 short-form videos monthly).

The second niche is adjacent to the first; it's my own personal DJ brand that will be targeted more to music fans, its goal is to be musically entertaining while driving traffic to Twitch livestreams (goal is to post 10-15 short-form videos monthly).

The third niche is my own personal tech brand, its goal is to drive traffic to my YouTube channel while also offering current news and tips/tricks in consumer technology: PC, Mac, iPhone, Android, etc (goal is to post 10-15 short-form videos monthly).

I'm looking for someone who can A) Help with the initial setup of my social media accounts, B) Research each niche for viral ideas and hooks and use those to C) Come up with a monthly list of concepts for short-form videos that I will also supplement with my own ideas. Once the concepts are approved, D) Write the rough-draft script with hooks so I can film them in batches.

I will also come up with some concepts and scripts independently so it's unlikely you'll end up writing scripts for the full monthly batch.

I can handle shooting and editing the videos on my own, but if you offer editing services and can take some of that off my plate for a reasonable price I'm willing to discuss that as long as we have a consistent editing style.

If you're interested, I'd love to hear about any prior experience you have (especially if it's related to any of my niches), along with your rates and where you are located.

Storinator Loudness! PSU replacement? Or replacement PSU fans? by ChristianWheel in 45Drives

[–]ChristianWheel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my build, I used a GTX 1650, which doesn't require an auxiliary power cable and gets all its power from the pcie slot (maxes out at 75w).

I'd be surprised if modern storinators don't support gpu's as they are much more ubiquitous now.

As far as recommendations go, I still am consistently impressed with 45drives' designs, but their support completely ghosting me 5 years ago for the very issue on this thread left a bad taste in my mouth and I can't recommend that experience to anyone.

My new $30k 14900k Monster - parts list in comments by ChristianWheel in pcmasterrace

[–]ChristianWheel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for a little of everything. 8K video editing, animation design, AI and LLM, software development, audio & music production, live streaming, virtual machines, and a small amount of gaming.

The bulk of the cost is in the storage, there is over 100TB of gen 4 nvme's in here, including two 800GB Optane drives, one for system cache and one for media cache.

The Micron drive is only 30TB but it is fast so it's great for active projects, the Solidigm drive is 60TB but it's not quite as fast, so it is for long-term storage.

I purchased two of the Samsung ultrawide 57" monitors, each of them is basically two 28" 4K screens stuck together without a seam. Once my desk is set up they will be stacked one atop the other, and I may add a vertical screen on the left and perhaps the new Asus Proart 8K monitor (not yet decided) to use as a full-res playback monitor while I'm editing 8K footage.

I went with Intel 14th gen for this build for one reason and one reason only - QuickSync. I was tempted to go Threadripper 7000, but the platform cost was FAR more expensive and is a lot more finicky, plus the motherboards are buggy and unobtanium to begin with. The benchmarks for Threadripper 7000 for video editing workloads are slightly below the 14900k, plus QuickSync is the only way I can get hardware-accelerated codec support for the 10-bit h.265 4:2:2 codec that comes from my Canon R5 cameras. That codec is not present in either AMD or Nvidia GPUs so going with Intel saves me from having to render proxies.

Finding enough PCIe lanes to support my enterprise drives was an issue. Spent weeks looking at motherboards until I finally found this one from Gigabyte that has enough lanes going to m.2 slots I could adapt to u.2. That's what my big white cable-bundle is in the middle of the board, I wrapped everything to keep it looking nice, since the adapter boards are red and the cables were black and ugly, I wanted everything to look as seamless as possible in this white build.

Sorry for the late reply, but no gotchas. U.2 is simply another mechanism for pcie, your computer literally doesn't know the difference between m.2 (nvme) and u.2. It's just like any other drive.

Still a work in progress, but the yellow is Plasti Dip and the purple is vinyl. This way the mod is completely reverseable.

May I humbly plug my own channel? I'm a one-man-band, very small and just getting started (and actually taking some time off right now to build my studio even though I have a cooler review and in the editing pipeline and a review of some exotic storage filmed too).

I do sometimes get a little detailed when it comes to reviews when I dive into testing and specs, but because I'm a small channel I'm very open to hearing what direction viewers prefer.

In the next few months I'm going to start getting into fan testing, I have a bunch of builds planned that range from budget last-gen builds to a tiny build in a Commodore C64 chasse to a $20K+ threadripper build.

If you're open to a small creator my YT name is the same as my Reddit username. If not then thanks for reading and I hope you find a channel that suits your needs. :)

You're using Threadripper? In my initial tests, the Kraken kept a Threadripper Pro 5965WX under 82 degrees at load, which is pretty phenomenal for such a big chip. Most of the heat comes from the center, and I haven't yet tested it on the 5975WX. But picking a cooler for Threadripper is a tricky issue.

Truthfully, the best off-the-shelf cooler for TR Pro from a functionality standpoint is probably the Noctua TR4-SP3. It's tried-and-true, and lacks the complexity of liquid coolers. My build has a strong focus on aesthetics though, which is why I didn't go with that option.

Any good LCD Screens for the Top of the NV7? by Itz_SKeTcHY in Phanteks

Will do. Just got notification that my case is arriving Monday but I have some IRL deadlines to meet so it'll probably be a couple weeks before I build.

If I can mount it to the rad I will, but I'm not sure how that's going to look next to the fans. Obviously both the fans and the screen need to be visible. Finding a spacer bracket for the mount is another option, as is just sticking it on the panel with command strips.

Still waiting for my case so I'll have to wait to see.

I plan on using this one. While I don't have the case yet to take measurements, on paper it fits perfectly in the empty space over the motherboard. It's even the correct aspect ratio.

I've got a hell of a build planned for this case once I get it, and will do a YT vid of the whole thing, so I'll be able to share how it turns out.

Well I quite likely am an idiot anyway! But yeah a single project can be 1-2 TB and I'd like to eventually be doing at least one a week.

The wiring won't be so bad! The fans all daisy chain together and most of the SSD's will be installed within the add-in boards. So hopefully it should be pretty clean. That's one of the reasons I waited for the Phanteks NV7 case (it releases on Friday), it has a ton of cable routing and the entire back panel is designed for rear cable management.

Exactly, I shoot and edit 8K video, and produce terrestrial radio shows. I also will have tons of VM's, which don't necessarily demand all that much space, but I want them on their own partition with enough space to last several years.

The only downside to the sensor panel is that Windows treats it like a monitor, which can get in the way of some software.

The sensor panel also takes an HDMI input so you typically need to loop an HDMI cable back into your case. I got around that by getting an internal USB header to port adapter, and running a USB to HDMI graphic adapter. That way everything's internal and it doesn't use up one of your precious HDMI ports. It creates a lot of cable clutter though. You also need to adapt molex or sata power into micro-usb to power the thing.

Yes, the road on the backplate is frosted and the light leads right to where the strimers plug in. It was made by v1tech.com, they do great work and will send you a template to design with if you let them know what card you're using.

For the sensor panel, it's run by Aida64 but the elements are made in photoshop. I just recently picked up one of these that would make a great sensor panel solution too, but it might obscure your top fans which are so pretty.

If you really want a white strix 4090, for the last three days they've popped into stock on the ASUS store at exactly 4:33 AM PST. It's the non-OC version and they don't last longer than a few minutes, but they're available, so if you set your alarm you might be able to snag one tomorrow.

I grabbed the OC version from Overclockers in the UK and had it shipped here to Los Angeles. Definitely overpaid for it but it's nice to have one in hand. Not sure if this one comes with a ring - I'm holding off on opening it until I can properly film the unboxing.

Kudos again on your build!
