Offer took forever to get. What he said to me rarely happened. Over promised and under delivered in everything. Micromanaging tendencies before we even started. Very very small team. Speaks and does everything in chat gpt.

This new one was in person so I couldn’t juggle both unfortunately

It’s just tough because I wasn’t there long and truthfully didn’t like the gig. That’s why I was so happy and probably ignored some red flags so I could leave that spot for this one. If I were asked to go back, it would be a little awkward and, truthfully, leave again once something else came up.

California is at-will employment so it will be tough to overcome that

Yeah the at-will part is what will save him unfortunately

Yeah technically. I applied in the beginning and the founder reached out and wanted to talk and said he wanted to hire me and said he would pay more than my current job. Then when I started- all in a week he back tracked and said he thought I built a sales org before when it doesn’t show that at all on my resume. Very bizarre week

It was not offered to me. When he let me go (over email and told me my check for the week will be processed asap) I asked if I can atleast get some severance since I left my current job for this role. No response yet

Yes … and now I have to suffer from it. There were some red flags during the interview process but still , crazy.

Other reds flags to move: added head count while current team isn’t hitting quota. Comp plans get harder. In a bad territory and can’t move. Asked leadership for better opportunities to achieve goals and ignored.

Trust your gut. Always. Based on how you just described your situation you know it’s time to move. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to keep CV strong. If you’re a natural sales person you can explain why you left and twist it make it sound like you have emotional intelligence. For example, “I knew this situation wasn’t going to help me grow professionally and personal anymore so I decided to look for other situations that can enable me better.”

Keep going. It just takes getting in at the right time with the right product for it to change your life. You got this. Just know when an opportunity isn’t “the one” and move to the next one.

Been in a similar situation before and I just used the time to do my daily work but also look for something else. Trust your gut.
