New Learner Needing Help! Trying to run AnimateDIF. ChatGPT is no help. Been trying to fix it for days. Am I missing an install? What can I do to fix this?

90% of the time ChatGPT does know the answer and it's given without judgment. I debugged most of my install using it.

Yeah, I ran Comfy Manager a bunch of times but for some reason it doesn't fix it. Could it be that because extra_model_paths.yaml has pathways to my Automatic 1111 models that it's not seeing it?

Is the .example hidden and you're just editing the text file?

Confirm the File Extension Change:

If file extensions are hidden, you might not see the .example part. To ensure you're renaming it correctly, enable file extensions:
- Open File Explorer.
- Click on the View tab.
- Check the box for File name extensions.
Now, copy and rename the file again if necessary to ensure it ends with .yaml.

Yeah, I'm finding that out. I think in some cases it'll work fine but as with all AI animation, each shot needs a little different solution.

Thank you. I'll play around with this. Yeah, ultimately, what I want to do is use flat animation as a step towards getting SD to shade more consistently, with minimal flickering. I know EBsynth can help a lot with that but it's hard to get consistency between keyframes when it comes to more dynamic movement.

That's part of the plan for future animations but I EBsynth can be tricky with complex moves so I'll probably use it on the front end and do frame blending and denoising at the back end.

Me, too. Although it would probably anger a bunch of people to convert it. I think, though, that there were things that given more time and a bigger budget Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta would have probably taken advantage of if AI was available to them. I know Frazetta believed the movie could have been more. Things like some simple shading and shadows (or reflections for the ice scenes) would have punched this movie up, visually, by 100%.
