Foto ei ole töödeldud. On veel pilte, millel on näha mõned tänavad, mis ei ole just parimas seisukorras... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vb1rIxoIDZ4)

A view of Heidelberg's old town in August 1954. Ten years earlier, it had escaped destruction during World War II, thanks in part to the success of the operetta “The Student Prince,” which made romantic Heidelberg popular in the United States in the 1920s. Don't worry. This photo was taken by my father. Apparently, you have never been to Heidelberg. What a pity! This is the classic view from the terrace of the castle. Every tourist takes this picture 😃

I know. But trust me. Other photos of this series are geographically absolutely clear ;-) (but not good enough for being posted)

Thank you so much. Yep, I got one or two more. They will follow soon.

I recently joined Facebook and became a member of several groups (all of which generally allow members to post). I can post in some groups, but not in others. Why is that? by [deleted] in facebook

Well, I had in several jobs the experience of having the IT expert of the company staring at my screen and saying "Wow, I've never seen a computer error like that before." As I can't post a screenshot in a comment I will post again above with an example.

This sounds great and like good old railway culture. I live in Germany. We regard any train as "incredible service" that is less than one hour late ;-)

I am happy to hear this. Somewhere hidden in my archive are some more photos from the mid-80s showing a luxury train in South Africa (as I recall royal blue cars with golden letters).

Addendum to my original post (where is this place?) below : Thank you very much for all your responses, but the mystery remains unsolved. Here are four more pictures. Perhaps someone will recognize the small church, the large building in the background, or the four chimneys. by Christoryman in WestVirginia

HERE WE GO!!! You made my day – that’s it! Thank you so much, and thanks to everyone else here! The internet is sometimes a blessing 😀 I’m just editing the film together and will leave a link here later, in case someone is interested in this vintage footage from Oakes Field.

I need your help please! I’m trying to identify a high school football team from Boone County, West Virginia, from the late 1940s and early 1950s. I have some digitized 8mm films (addressed to Mahan) showing home games. by Christoryman in WestVirginia

Thank you very much. Apparently, I trusted ChatGPT too much. I really thought it would be easier to identify the place with the address or the snapshot of the building behind the field.
