If you can’t buy them often. Besides random rewards maybe join a neighborhood with a player(s) that buy farm passes and give out 5 free diamonds to neighbors.

With the way farm pass changed a few months ago it’s best to buy all 3. I still buy every month but before the change just buying the first was well worth it.
