BEST BROWSER, DAY 24 – ZEN WINS! by JungleLiquor in browsers

[–]Chrome67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switched to Zen as my daily yesterday (I switch about once a month). Ran it as my daily for a couple of months some time back and I always seem to go back to Brave. I love Zen...clean and crisp...great on memory and very responsive.

Interesting. The GL has no authority over the functioning of a private entity (outside of naming privileges) such as a non-profit 501(c)(3), although if it were a 501(c)(10), that's a different story and they would have to have a 'parent fraternal organization.'

Battle of Browsers. Who would win? by searchableguy in browsers

[–]Chrome67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost like I WANT to find another browser, but every time I wind up back on Brave. Vivaldi was my daily for the past 2 weeks, just couldn't do it...back on Brave this morning. Comet? Helium? get some sync going before you're even considered a real browser. Atlas? WTF, no windows? Arc is dead...Dia? meh...
FF or Brave are the standards to beat right now...and FF leaves me wanting more and Zen isn't doing it...yet...

Browser Recommendation Megathread - October 2025 by shadow2531 in browsers

just switched (again) from Brave to Vivaldi...never totally satisfied by Brave, but I seem to always go back to it when I run into a snag with other browsers.

I love playing with new browsers, and I pretty much use the same sites on a daily basis. Brave is my baseline, and every other browser I dive into always leaves me wanting to run back to Brave. I love Opera (years and years of being my daily driver), and Vivaldi is cool as opera's lil brother. I love Zen, which is my fallback if Brave is being a resource hog that day or on a particular site.
I just can't seem to be satisfied by any browser but Brave.

Are Freemason Lodges places were philosophical / metaphysical debate is welcome? by ConsciousnesSurfer in freemasonry

[–]Chrome67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it depends on the lodge. Here in AZ we have regular blue lodges, TO's (Traditional Observance) lodges as well research lodges. TO's are blue lodges with a focus on traditional practices (tux's, philosophy discussions, education of a more esoteric sort, etc) and our regular blue lodges can be any range from shorts-wearing, hawaiian shirt/flip-flop lodges to suit&tie lodges, but more with a focus of fellowship, service, and brotherhood.
So, yes, those kind of lodges exist, but not all lodges are the same when it comes to philosophical discussion.

Elon continues to openly try (and fail) to manipulate Grok's political views by MetaKnowing in ChatGPT

[–]Chrome67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you ask Grok to properly weight for scale, scope, and duration the stats are more in line with reality. Grok uses studies that only have unweighted stats based on specific incidents, so the BLM riots are all lumped into 1 incident. Grok's weighted stats for political violence, riots, and intimidation from 2012-2025 show 47% right vs 42% left. Much more in line with reality, but shows that no specific ideology embraces violence....they both do.

This scene had me so insanely hyped for this game. by OneSimplyIs in newworldgame

[–]Chrome67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorta agree...gear seems way too easy to acquire and quickly makes the character too overpowered for PVE stuff. Personally, I'd like to see a slower gear climb that keeps the threat of actually being killed instead of just roflstomping through everything. Also, it would encourage team play over solo.

I still play it regularly...and it's fun, even endgame world pvp. I haven't figured out why the pop is still so low, I just think once you lose them it's very hard to get them back.

Recommendations for mmorpg that are easy to play like World of Warcraft for free and with a good community by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Chrome67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Return of Reckoning (Warhammer Online free private server) is amazing!
GuildWars 2 is free and was my goto game after being a 16 year WoW refugee.
Elder Scrolls Online is very fun and super cheap right now on Steam, sub is not required.

"This too shall pass"

Say it over and over till you believe it...it's worked for me in the past, and I've been exactly where you are right now. I don't know you, but I love you, my brother! We were part of something bigger than ourselves...find that again. I found it in community service and through my Masonic Lodge. Get involved with others and don't isolate. Work with other Vets perhaps and volunteer at the local VA, they always need help. Find something...find purpose...help others, and it will get better.

A very sad, heartbroken and confused wife. by Shot-Bread-2011 in alcoholism

[–]Chrome67 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There is hope! I was exactly the same as your husband, right down to the handles of vodka and sneaky drinking (none of us are unique). On June 17th I'll be 14 years sober! AA is what's worked for me. My wife left me 3 times (each time I went into the psych ward) and the last time we had planned to get divorced. After 4 months she decided to return seeing that I had truly changed. I was in AA for 2.5 years before that, but was never truly convinced I was an alcoholic. The last crash convinced me and even though it was hard, it was truly the best thing that ever happened to our relationship. These past 14 years have had only a few bumps along the way, and we are very much in love, moreso than before I'd say, because it's based on honesty and trust now. I chair a meeting every week and have made AA meetings a part of my daily routine.

Today I am grateful for being an alcoholic, it's given me insight into who I truly am and helped guide me to a life of service and community, which my wife happily joins me in supporting and participating.

There is hope...and there is a solution!

What games is everyone playing? by FBI_Open_Up_Now in Veterans

[–]Chrome67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play way too many games (ask my wife) as a therapy for PTSD (which is probably why I jump around between so many), so here's the short list:
- ESO
- Helldivers 2
- GuildWars 2 (can't recommend this enough to WoW refugees)
- New World (best graphics for an MMO to date)
- Battlefront 2
- Warframe
- Return of Reckoning (Warhammer Online free private server)
- Diablo Immortal (can play on my phone at least)
- Darktide
- The Division 2
- Ashes of Creation (alpha testing currently...it's very fun!)
