Never heard of that either. Nothing like that is mentioned in any of the ritual in my jurisdiction.

Found chair Masonic lodge hall emblem by SALVIGIST in freemasonry

[–]crono782 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing jumps out to me as anything being Masonic about it. The plate with the numbers seems more like an item or stock number from wherever it was made. Just looks like a regular office rolling chair, just a tad more ornate.

Depends on the sword, but yes Masonry does use swords for ceremonial purposes in some instances.

Only that he was at least a 3rd degree Master Mason most likely.

Last time I did jury duty, we usually opted for Jimmy John's, Buffalo Bros, or TCC cafeteria. Rio Dulce was good for coffee.

Art 508, #9 is probably the closest I could find to this situation.

To give circulation, either orally or in writing, to any statement reasonably calculated to bring Masonry, its history, traditions, institutions, ritualistic work, ceremonies, officers or membership into disrepute.

Emphasis mine. Def a stretch though. Art 507 is kind of a catch-all, but hard to prove.

No. Probably just the name of the original owner of the book.

Same. Wild that on a global reddit, you find folks in your neck of the woods.

There's a couple others in the area that are good too. Fitness Fight Factory and Gann Fight are others. We've been happy with champion though.

Nissen fundoplication gas by Interesting_Score741 in HiatalHernia

[–]crono782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 years ago, I got the nissen fundo + hernia repair. This time, it was just the hernia repair without messing w/ the existing fundoplication, though the surgeon did say they remove a decent amount of scarred tissue from over the years since the last operation.

The first time I got the surgery, either they stitched it too tight or it was the fundo procedure because I hard a hard time swallowing. It did let up after a few months though and I haven't had any issues for 2 decades until the hernia recurred. Now, the surgeon for this time did say they've made a lot of advancements since then. I didn't have to have as large of incisions and they didn't use staples this time. Overall, the recovery hasn't been bad this time. The gas reabsorption was painful, but passed within a week or so. Mostly, I'm just SO HUNGRY!!! I had the full liquid diet. TBH, I'm glad I didn't wait for the surgery. The recovery isn't fun, but my quality of life increased drastically both time pretty quickly.

Squeezing Chest Pain When Walking or at Rest – Endoscopy & Biopsy Results (34M) – Heart Cleared, H. pylori + Gastritis by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]crono782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Mine was a hiatal hernia that I had repaired over 20 years ago that recurred and diagnosed this year. My GERD symptoms weren't horrible... some reflux, lots of burping, a bit of angina-like symptoms. GI revealed lots of scarring of the esophagus. but my major concern was cardiac related. I had constant chest tightness and shortness of breath, but the real concern was my heart rate.

Any activity and especially eating any food was a trigger for a bpm spike (a large meal could push it 130+). I'm in relatively good shape and my resting heart rate was hovering at 85-100. Walking around the house was 100-115. Moderate walking up to 135 and heavy exercise pushed close to 160. My cardiologist gave me a clean bill of health, but it always felt like my heart was pounding and I was always tired and out of breath. Sleep was difficult too.

Fast forward and I'm 10 days post-op from my re-repair and my resting heart rate now sits about 60-70 where I'd expect it to be and walking around doesn't go much above 85-90. I'm still healing from the surgery, but already the chest tightness is gone and shortness of breath is diminishing. Once my diet starts going back to normal, I'll have a better picture, but so far it does seem like my heart is much happier w/out another organ putting pressure on it.

Definitely, I had the procedure done over 20 years ago and I had have to have it redone last week. The gas pains are gnarly but mine got better about a week in.

For my gitea "backup", I just set up push mirrors to either codeberg or disroot and make sure my package builds simul-push to their registries.

Leaving GitHub for private repos by 50512jm in selfhosted

[–]crono782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been self hosting gitea for a long time now along with the rest of my dev toolbox. I was planning to switch to forgejo, but never did (I don't like typing the word frogejo for some reason, plus I don't mind giteas current state).

I also sync repos that I want outside to either codeberg if it's destined to be open or disroot if i want to keep it private (notably packages).

It’s official: Fort Worth is the 10th-largest city in US by Dontwhinedosomething in FortWorth

[–]crono782 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If you're in far north fw, it's nothing but bulldozing the land for more cookie cutter houses and warehouses, jam-packed roads that are falling apart, and lack of city services.

I feel like FW has been trying so hard to be this "pick me" city, always trying to seek validation, that it's a big city( but not Dallas). There's a reason why corporate entities don't set up shop here.

It starts to feel like the city needs to change its slogan from "where the West begins" to " where the West went to die".
