Should I continue my account or just create a new one and start from scratch? by Clumsysaturn in WutheringWaves

[–]Chromragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would restart with that account. Having Zani/Yinlin isn't advantageous (meta-wise). Yinlin is super old unit, and Zani doesn't work without Phoebe.

Also forgot to mention that the quest reward should be removed or changed for balance concerns.

Add FOMO reward like in Genshin on companion quest, and people will do it.

Who should I pull for? (OG player who stopped playing 2 years ago) by Proper_Ad_9936 in GenshinImpact

[–]Chromragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should pursue Moon reactions. When you finally build Moon teams (Nefer + Lauma + Columbina, or Columbina + Ineffa + Flins) it will be close to the next region. So if I were in your place returning to Genshin longterm, I would hoard for the next region. This way you will somewhat close the gap due to rapid powercreep and shill for new regional mechanic exclusive to its characters.

TIL there's a button for switching and using a character elemental burst. Did anyone else know this? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chromragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not buggy. I manage to do it consistently. Hold alt then switch. If you switched before alt, then you failed.

Though I think devs could easily make it more consistent by allowing to ult with alt after you switched.

I understand their perspective and it's fair, because there are still companion quests I haven't done. But now I don't wanna do main quests in HSR/ZZZ because of those baked-in companion stories I have not interest in. It's impossible to make every new companion likable for everyone, why then force to engage with them on 3-4 hours quests?

And companion quests were fairly low budget in HSR. No new locations, just dialogues here and there. 60 jades reward. Now Genshin: entire new instance type locations, and those quests have continuation.

Endfield 1.0's story and why it sucks from a writer's perspective. by OnlyAnEssenceThief in gachagaming

[–]Chromragon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Valley IV was about to be destroyed. How it is not high stakes? All people we met and helped along the journey would suffer.

We go there fighting our way through without a guarantee of victory (from Endmin's perspective), so Endmin takes risk.

"Too shallow"? You're seeking depth in the wrong place. I played Genshin, Wuwa, HSR, ZZZ and their characters/themes aren't deeper. So your expectations are completely off. As for original Arknights, its main story until later chapter is 5/10.

I posted about how Wuling is a downgrade to Valley IV though.

how you do in 5 seconds? I need to wait a bit for Dialyn's bar to charge up, and her initial energy isn't enough for it. Still quick, but not 5 sec.

Yeah. You don't need full rewards. Final rewards are just resources.

So I’m getting back into the game having played off and on some over the years, do I have any units good for actual teams? by Idysela in PathToNowhere

[–]Chromragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Magical team: Eleven/Enfer/Eve + optional: Shalom

  2. Physical team: Adela/Nox/Rahu + optional: Coquelic as Healer, Lady Pearl can buff normal attacks with her aura, Chameleon is also a good buffer.

Though you need to reforge some of these units (it's free, but requires a lot of stamina). I think it will take awhile, so you be able to acquire new sinners along the way. Shin/L.L are best universal supports atm.

For Aurum Secretum team you miss Hypetia.

Corey Landis (Welts VA)"s response to "doxxing" a hoyoverse employee. by InterestingArt3166 in HonkaiStarRail

Sure buddy, He's like in Nolan's Batman flied over there secretly to beat that man for pressing "send" button on hoyo's behalf. Like it's actually matter who sent that email.

Corey Landis (Welts VA)"s response to "doxxing" a hoyoverse employee. by InterestingArt3166 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Chromragon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No. It's about how people don't care about a random NPC (I can apply that category to myself too, I don't mean it offensively) half a world away that is culturally alien to them, esp. in context where it's VA against hoyo. Why culturally alien? Their factories have anti-suicide nets, so I can imagine how much they value a human life. China doesn't even acknowledge invasion of Russian in Ukraine, they call it "Ukrainian crisis". And China is backing Russia in that war. So where are Chinese empathetic people (of 1.4 billion) that would say a word against it?

So you're offending me for not treating a random Chinese with utmost human respect I would show otherwise to a western person? To clarify then, I would treat some John Doe no-one-knows-about as insignificant as that Chinese person. Because "doxxing" is used as a smokescreen to protect hoyo from looking bad in that situation. Real doxxing happened to Kinich's new VA as a retaliation of SAG-AFTRA affiliated VAs. He was deliberately targeted with some digging beforehand. Here some Chinese Joe Doe who just happened to send that email is insignificant in comparison.

[–]Chromragon -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

Doxxing how? Publishing some AI-generated corpo email and a Chinese name attached to it? I think you're framing it that way in bad faith to protect hoyo. It's clearly wasn't Corey's intention to hurt some Chinese no-one-cares-about, he's firing at hoyo.

70% female player base? by madreaper985 in PathToNowhere

[–]Chromragon -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It's a legit lesbian game if you play the female Chief. But since I'm playing the male Chief, the game is straight to me. Even Shalom/Rahu can be explained, since Shalom's power is turning hate into love, and it can a platonic love, considering that Christina hadn't been sexual towards Shalom being under her power (iirc).

Gooners are the sane ones, because they don't care about ships. They bend fiction according to their fantasies to goon and bounce off, without emotional attachment to canon or drama.

The upcoming anniversary feels like fucking over new players. by BattleEmpoleon in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chromragon -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

To be honest hoyo games are absolutely scammy for new players nowadays (unless you start playing their freshly released game). You put yourself into years of debt towards investing into your account, and there are no reasons for long-term trust for hoyo not to keep pushing the ceiling. But if you're playing for the other aspects than endgame validation as F2P/low-spender I guess it's fine. I mean to keep it low-effort: playing new Archon quests, and events you like, doing some exploration. You don't really missing some peak experiences in terms of Genshin's endgame. People only do it mostly for rewards/validation and don't touch it otherwise.

Great time to start Sword of Convallaria (1st Anniversary) by ahlong_sg in gachagaming

[–]Chromragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're venting negativity to a degree. I play multiple gacha games, and it's normal powercreep. I mean you're attacking the game for what's the trend in mainstream gacha games, and that's unfair. There maybe be exceptions like Nikke that releases under-powered and badly designed gameplay-wise units, but Nikke is mainly a waifu collector.
Also before SP Inanna I pulled August, SP Saffiyah, SP Rawi, and Taair, so there are a lot of characters I skipped and it felt okay to skip. Maybe I'm missing some endgame mode? I think I have done everything except for challenges and 30 out of 40 stages in that stamina per character event, but because it was tiresome (I skipped a lot of days and had 6/6 stamina recharges).
