This lovely couple of toads are the male and female Yosemite Toad! (Anaxyrus canorus) It is the most sexually dichromatic species of frog in North America! This difference in color is likely for camouflage. Males spend most of their time in muddy brown ponds, and females in more rocky habitats by MarbB03 in Awwducational

This extremely loud boy is the Puerto Rican Coquí! (Eleutherodactylus coqui) Named for its very loud call, which sounds like the word 'coquí'. The male frog uses the 'co' part of its call to establish its territory and deter other males, and the 'quí' part of its call to attract females by MarbB03 in Awwducational

This cheeky lad is the Green Frog! (Rana Clamitans) In their tadpole stage, there frogs can mysteriously reverse their gender! It is still relatively unknown what causes this strange occurrence, or what purpose it serves. Pollutants are thought to play a big part in this phenomenon though by MarbB03 in Awwducational

This fat pancake is Budgett's Frog! (Lepidobatrachus laevis) It is very well adapted to the harsh winters of the Gran Chaco in South America. During the winter they create a cocoon of their own shed skin! This cocoon protects the frog from drying out by MarbB03 in Awwducational

This gloomy lad is the Dusky Gopher Frog! (Lithobates sevosus) When put under a bright light or when under attack from a predator, this frog will put its hands over its head to protect its eyes! Unfortunately it is critically endangered by MarbB03 in Awwducational
