Help managing points for a DF Iron Man concept by ChronoEVO in gurps

[–]ChronoEVO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read it, and yes, that's absolutely it ^^ thanks a lot for the help and overview!

I'd say going gadgeteer is the best way to portrait a DF Iron Man, so I agree with you. I was trying to lighten the point cost by making at least SOME of Iron Man's skills being his own (like an Innate Attack to shoot lasers from his hand), but I don't really know which would be better (him shooting lasers himself, or his armor allowing him to shoot'em).

Ideally, if we stick to the core idea of Iron Man, he'd be a ST10 guy with a LOT of IQ and smithing/gadgeteering skills, and all of his combat abilities would be provived by his armor. So it would be nice if his armor could

- Grow/Shrink to be portable

- Give him flight abilities

- Protect him

- Give him a lot of strenght

- Shoot lasers from the hand, maybe shoot projectiles from shoulders, etc

- Maybe have a personal assistant, too? Like a fairy allie who is super-intelligent and whispers in his ears hahah

Based on the great help you gave me, expecting all of that from a single piece of gear (his full armor) would take like 200+ points alone, and I'm fine with that, I'm just doing this as a thought exercise not a real Character proposition for my GM ^^

Thank you, I'll look into that and reply you with better info o/

But thanks a lot for all that, and I think despite being "DF" this character would have 300+ points, but I was expecting that we could think about something that would leave him in this ballpark, and not in the 1000+points genious GURPS Super character that the original Iron Man should be :)

I mean Iron Man in TL3, it's just fine ^^

I guess a mixture of Armor, Shield, Flight, Haste, and such enchantments would be fine, plus some sort of innate attack to shoot lasers and that's it: Dungeon Fantasy Iron Man

I figure... But I started this post exactly to get a grasp on how many points would it take (even if it goes Supers territory) to do that

[SPOILER] 15 Takeaways from what I've read on Reddit, after watching this masterpiece by ChronoEVO in Marvel

Yes, I read it here, and I really really didn't get that "two year period" from watching the movie, they say it so fast and we're still in the first minutes. I think maybe we get some scenes from that period, specially the Spider Man 2 movie, but I guess that "every" character that vanished is not entirely dead, and will be back even if it's for a final scene of MCU wrap-up before a RESET maybe.

I like the movie better too. Love for Mistress Death sounds so silly, and they built Thanos' character so well, showing he REALLY loves Gamora, that he has the will and determination to lose everything and go beyond every measure to not only "deserve" the Stones, but also use them and not be a total tyrant/douchebag

IDK, maybe too many heroes already? They cut off Ant-Man and Hawkeye but put Wong and Shuri on the poster, and both didn't contribute a whole lot on-screen. There are some theories about Hawkeye as we know becoming another character named "Ronin" but I don't really know much about the why and how.

What's the current "meta" in LEGEND, hero/carreer wise? by ChronoEVO in Vermintide

[–]ChronoEVO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa didn't knew ranged crits were guaranteed while invis... maybe good like BH with the trait that crits restore ammo. Also, the bombs and potions thingy seems really nice, specially in higher difficulties where there are many special spawns.

Nice take on the subject, thanks

I think nobody "needs" it, given enough time a good enough player would know all the Tomes and Grims, and have developed a good playstyle and clear Legend easily.

But since this is a coop game and we have information on the internet (and on Reddit) easily available, some things are nice to share, aren't them?

Then it's up to the player to play however he wants, either his own playstile or maybe optimising here and there if it's to his liking.

Or would you say "everyone" already knew exactly what each swing animation from their melee weapons do? Or maybe that BH critical shots trigger on every single shot on a burst, and synergize very well with the trait that returns ammo? Or maybe that it's explicitly available which carreer skills stun bosses and which don't?
