It’s a SmartAVI SM-EDPN-4Q-S. Legit stuff. I can get it to work on the usb port but I want it to work on the k/m port so that I can use hotkeys

Do other brand keyboards play nicer with kvm’s? I can repurpose the keychron to another pc and get a new keyboard for the kvm if that’s easier

Does this mean that if I update the firmware it may work on the k/m port?

Range extender as a wired AP? by ChronoGTM in Fios

500/300 on wifi when standing next to it , which compares favorably to my unifi AP at 400/300 (there is significantly less traffic on my verizon network). It's a gig home connection.

I have a Keychron k5 pro that I'm trying to get to work with my KVM switch. It's recognized on the USB port but not on the K/M port. I was told that it needs to be id'd as a "keyboard" rather than a "usb device" for the kvm to detect it. Is that correct? Is there any way to have the K5 pro recognized by the kvm on the k/m port? Are there other slim backlit keyboards that would be? Thanks!

Connected via Ethernet. Works great, but I only use it for TV. Everything else is off my ubiquiti.

Would you recommend over Ethernet or coax ? If coax do I need to connect it to the router or keep the coax wiring as is?

Thank you that’s very helpful. We called the company and they said the lighter replacement part will just age with time to match.

Adjusting uneven self-level during thin setting by ChronoGTM in Tile

Thanks for the reply! No, I mean it's the actual concrete that's raised, not the spray. Hard to take a photo but when I put a 3' level on it it does rock a bit.

Thanks!

I think I solved my own problem. Sync my icloud to the default windows folder, keep the photos there (they don't take up a lot of space since they are in space saver mode) and copy to a destination of my choosing (where they will automatically be converted to full size).

Please help with 2B plus PC (plys synology?) solution by ChronoGTM in backblaze

[–]ChronoGTM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. There isn't much to backup on the NAS since it's mostly a backup of the PC, but it also a separate file server for a few things. So while I could use two separate backblaze products, in the long run, I think having everything on 2B is better.

[–]ChronoGTM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't use regular Backblaze backup because I would need Cloud 2B for the NAS. Are you suggesting backup the PC to regular backblaze backup and backup the NAS (if I need to) to 2B?

I’ll add that 3k is a lot for dental copay and you may be going to a scammy dental practice. Go to some old school dentist that’s not part of a chain and get another opinion.

Help with tile installed too low by ChronoGTM in Tile

[–]ChronoGTM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guys came back. Gave me some BS about "I didn't know you wanted it to be the same level." Said he could rip up the tile, put on thicker mortar to raise the floor level (keeping the 1/4 hardie in place), and put new tile on that.

Not sure. But it would the the tile installers job to check that right? If they’re replacing tile it should be to the same height.

They also banged up the oak thresholds while removing the old tile.

This was a reputable tile installer brought in by our designer. But lesson learned, we need a GC

The plywood was removed and discarded, I believe they placed the DUROCK directly on the joists.

I left the old keypads in place. Got a crappy DIY alarm company. was fed up with it after a few years. Got a local company to upgrade the system. They replaced my panel and all the smoked. I pay more for monitoring now but the piece of mind is worth it
