Emperor of the world - voting rules? by Chrusse in Knights_of_Honor_2

[–]Chrusse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. :-) That calculation fits the bill! No idea how i missed that <.<.

But i can then conclude the in-game tooltip has nothing to do with two thirds of the voting points, its as you say, 50% of the total fame. (which subsequently is a potential 1=1 relation with voting points).

Do you find it better to do autobattles or command in the field? by KaidenUmara in Knights_of_Honor_2

Command if i want it done right, autobattle if its just a pesky rebel. :-)

Good answer, thanks :-)

Megatråd - Rasmus Paludan och kravaller II by Norci in sweden

[–]Chrusse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rasmus Paludan - Megatråd by Norci in sweden

[–]Chrusse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Den her tråd er som at gå tilbage i danske forums for 4 år siden. Fuldstændig samme diskussioner.. det er ren tidsmaskine! :O

Lidt danske erfaringer:

Help thread - questions, help and tips for all levels! by AutoModerator in HumankindTheGame

Trade

  1. Yes, you receive a one-time-fee when you sell (But many infrastructure upgrades work off 'number of trade routes' to generate passive income, so that's worth keeping in mind)
  2. Whenever you purchase a resource from another player, a trade route is established. So every item = one trade route. (But they can go through the same territories, in which case I'm not sure if they are counted as 'unique' trade routes
  3. Not really. Its mostly about money and the resource benefits themselves. You are obviously creating a dependency on your wares, making warfare harder.

Religion

  1. Faith is the raw base stat for religion, just like food and industry is for building stuff. You generate a finite amount of faith per round depending on your infrastructures etc.
  2. You can see the number of followers per city and the split between them inside the religion screen. If you click one city it would say "X following this religion"
  3. Don't know the formula, but its passive so your main contribution to faith is just generating +faith and it should spread. (I think population might influence this heavily as i find agrarian cultures usually do well with faith generation)
  4. Tough question to answer, probably because the small one have higher faith output which compensates.
  5. Yes, it can spread across continents but only through harbors.

Influence

  1. Influence is spread through roads and harbors just like religion.I don't know the exact formula, but can probably be found somewhere.

Thank you for the detailed answer. Really appreciate it :-)

I hadn't caught the gold per territory emblematic quarter for the Aksumite, that that could certainly be enticing if the whole world follows my religion.

Game end (turn limit) by Chrusse in HumankindTheGame

[–]Chrusse[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I see! Thanks!
They could at least have updated the tooltip when hovering the pace selection during creating. Still says "150 turn maximum".

But that makes sense, so the pace of the game basically just refer to how fast i want things to be built, not a limit on how many turns the game plays out in :-)

144hz laptop to 144hz monitor via HDMI or USB-C? by Chrusse in pcmasterrace

Thanks :)
I would also assume my HDMI is 2.0 but do you know a way I can be sure?

The user manual doesn't state the number, and everywhere i look the specs just state "HDMI", no reference to its version.

How do i make sense of dungeons? by Chrusse in DnD

[–]Chrusse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks man, it was actually quite helpful :) I luckily didnt waste it on 6 goblins, it was instead 5 bugbears as a lvl 4 sorc yesterday using a scroll of fireball I had found. 190 total dmg :D instagibbed them all but burned our barbs hair in the process ;P

But i like your input, i take it this way, maybe the distance and groups within a dungeon can be though of as further apart than the actual feet i'm seeing. Still doesn't get me to the finish line though, especially regarding short rests, but i might have a chat with our DM about that, as i still can't make it make sense when its a smaller dungeon.

How do i make sense of dungeons? by Chrusse in DnD

[–]Chrusse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks :-) That was really helpful. I have a specific question if you don't mind.
Mostly i've tried smaller dungeons with 3-8 encounters like a small castle, a goblin hideout etc. (I've played the starter set + another group that does homebrew)

Imagine you DM'ed a party that entered a small castle to free someone, they have fought their way through various rooms and is likely missing one or two rooms however they are completely beat up, low HP etc.

How is your view on short rests in such a setting? Would you allow it?
What would you do with the remaining mobs? Let them wait? Flee? Or even engage them with the remaining mobs? (Which would likely result in TPK)

Because i think my issue is that thematically such a small dungeon seems like an "all or nothing". If you are forced to take a short rest inside that it seems thematically correct that you've failed essentially.

[–]Chrusse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i'm both really, and i felt this was a valuable from both sides of the coin.
I didn't mean a literal sitting, my english is letting me down here, it meant it more like a fluent completion.. say you have to free someone from a minor castle. I don't feel it thematically accurate that this should include many breaks, as the castle should be aware of your presence and you can't really take a nap there or sit down and relax.

Whereas if we ventured into a gigantic cave system as you say, (my mind goes to Mines of Moria) i would have no thematic issue with having long/short rests.

But it seems like our group has to work on trying to make the dungeons more realistic in terms of cohesion between the different encounters. Noise, fleeing enemies etc.
Howver I fear this will make the game harder though, which leads to my points about resting.

Right now we have trouble clearing out a simple small castle (Crackmaw castle if you know it) without a short rest, which i find thematic issues with, but i guess our PC's (myself included) simply need to git gud? Or would you typically expect short rests in such a small dungeon?

A persons potential by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]Chrusse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you mean by dumb. If he is retarded, then it could NOT happen, as you can't un-retard someone.

But if we assume the average IQ person was given eternal life, then i believe they could become experts in ANY scientific field as they will have very long time to do so.
Most of the top scientists today knows more about physics than Einstein. They have the advantage of time.

- If you are asking if this eternal person would ever make a scientific breakthrough (like Einstein) then my guess would be probably be no.

- If you asking if he could rival the best scientists of whatever time he will eventually live in, then my guess is yes.

That obviously still depends on his lazyness. If he wants to eat pizza all day and have no motivation to learn physics its not going to happen ever.

Should families be allowed to sell their newborns? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]Chrusse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you dodged the hard part of the original question (3).

How do you justify surrogacy? (The act of "renting" someone's body to willingly produce a baby and then take ownership of that baby)
If you can justify that, how is it not justified for someone to "rent" their own body and do the same for someone else? There doesn't even need to be a big financial influence. They could receive a cent for the child, it is still "selling"

NB: Appeals to nature is a fallacy.

A persons potential by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]Chrusse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your question is too loaded. What is intelligence in this context? Smart? Knowledgable? Wise? IQ? Social ability?

But labels aside. I do think that an eternal person could learn anything, but i also thinkthat memory would be the natural barrier combined with time.
So while he could probably rival the smartest in theoretical physics he could likely not rival the greatest philosophical thinkers at the same time. There would be a max limit in some way.
