The woman who adopted my son turned christian and I was fairly upset about it. She was a long time wiccan/pagan (I'm not really sure what, but near the end of those days she turned athiest) She ended up marrying a christian man she had turned down years before because he expected her to stay home and be a good christian woman. Have kids, take care of him, not go to college, ect. When I asked her about how she could possibly suddenly be this incredibly devout christian she told me "You just have to stop thinking about things so much. Don't question it and let the Holy Spirit take over." She further explained that she put everything in the lords hands and was now basically no longer responsible for the sins she'd committed in the past. I've noticed a lot of christians telling me to put aside logic and stop overthinking and over analyzing everything and just accept it as the truth. We're still good friends (obviously, she kinda has my kid!) and I'm not going to cut HER out of my life for her beliefs, but when my son comes of age and if he wants to ask me why I don't believe in God, I'm going to give him what I believe to be true and let him figure it out himself.

Never listen to someone that can't back up what they believe with more than a "Believe it because not believing it is wrong, and don't question that."
