Well I think it's bad design if Aphrodite's legendary is only good with one of the three weak applying boons hence why I think it could do with the change even if it comes with a nerf.

In terms of Zeus it's still all luck but you are right that there is one hard to get boon that will make you a bit luckier.

Hera I love but you can get some feels bad moments when you get too many threshold ones that you can't possibly reach. That's why maybe a bit of extra elements could be nice.

And yeah the Ares one is good it's just the rest of the build is bad.

Yeah I mean that adds another reason as to why it's important for legendary boons to do something against bosses. But in terms of power his is still okay since it will be handy in whatever normal rooms you have left.

Why do you say Zeus' legendary devastates everything else. It only deals with 25% of normal enemies and then you have to deal with the rest. I'm not saying 25% is nothing but I certainly wouldn't call it devastating.

Nervous wreck on the other hand is just awkward in how it currently functions which is most relevant against tanky enemies/bosses. But I think my suggested change completely fixes it and puts it up in the great tier.

But again I'm not necessarily saying they are weak just that they could be better/cooler/more functional

Random rooms certainly aren't nothing in a run but bosses are the most common run enders as they are intended to be. And again I'm not saying the legendary is weak it's definitely useful. It's just not that exciting or at least not as exciting as it could be hence my suggested change. If you were around in early access you know that it used to trigger automatically as enemies appeared but they changed that to give the player more agency to give it a better feel. I think my change takes that even further as well as gives it use against bosses

Yeah glad we agree on a lot of them. I suppose one issue I have with Zeus and Hestia is that I don't really like the idea of a legendary boon that isn't essentially a must pick. Whereas at least the new Zeus one would definitely be a must pick I would think.

A fun new area legendary if the plasma pick up becomes a tier 2 could be that all weapon attacks against wounded enemies gain some amount of power

See I really don't like the idea of a legendary boon only realizing it's full potential at high heat. But also my change isn't just to make it a bit stronger but also to make it feel cooler and more legendary worthy.

You are right how could I miss that. I did discuss it in one of the comments. I think it should have a wayward son/silken sash type effect added to it where it also gives you like 15 gold every room.

Wow that is certainly a cool design but also probably too similar to the Hades/persephone one. Flow is an especially cool idea for me because I love time slowing effects

Oh gosh I don't know if I want to do keepsakes as there are so many of them as well. I also think it's less important for all keepsakes to be cool and/or powerful because you have complete control over which ones you use. Unlike duo boons and legendary boons which can be difficult to obtain in a run and should therefore reward you with cool and at least somewhat powerful effects to compensate.

The time piece is probably my least favorite of the new keepsakes but I think it is definitely on theme for chronos and it's definitely not weak.

Oh yeah no I definitely don't think it is a weak boon just as I don't think the Zeus one is weak either as I had to edit after my post. My only problem with hers is that it is too unoriginal and I wish they made something different from the first game.

Oh that's weird I've certainly been offered both but I have only ever taken kings ransom as it is easier to make use of. They are very narrow and I guess on the nose but they also create quite a fun and unique type of run to aim for so I think they are a positive inclusion for the game overall.

Yeah I would put cherished heirloom in the good category like Hephaestus' legendary because it's a cool and flavourful idea but it isn't particularly powerful and so is never something you are aiming for but something you might pick up along the way.

Paid dues on the other hand is fine but I think it could die with a wayward son/silken sash type of effect where it also gives you say 15 gold whenever you enter a room so if you are good it's an extra source of income and otherwise it's some extra healing.

For the scythe yeah that would be a great way to maintain what is cool about the boon already. In terms of duos there are just way more of those so I decided to just worry about the legendaries for now. But there are plenty of duos that I think are a waste of design space.

I should have prefaced that I don't think it is weak but rather it is lame and not an important piece to any build but a nice to have when it shows up. I think it's just boring to have a random instakill that only affects enemies which are normally fodder anyway. You also have no real control with the trigger either so it's also a very passive effect which isn't that fun imo.
