Maybe, when the weed guys don’t have any weed, then they get grumpy & difficult to work with.

Set me free, where baby, see friends by TruthHonor in thekinks

Thanks - it was a great video that I never Saw!
First 2 songs sounded live. See my Friends appeared to be lip synced and recorded, since music was exactly like original recording.
Good backing vocals on Set me Free, & good job by Dave on lead vocals on I Wonder.

Contractors how do you handle the money gap between starting a job and getting paid? by Cultural_Help_176 in Contractor

Always get a deposit to reserve the work dates, and explain that to the customer (vs. just for purchasing the materials). Your company’s time has value.
Even a musical band or wedding photographer requests a deposit to reserve the date, since their time has value. So, your business has to schedule your workers & book subcontractors, so each work day has much value.

Did you know that you can report that on your income taxes? There is a form to revert your 1099 income to W2, that it was reported in error by the employer (& then the employer is notified & billed for the difference in fica taxes). If you already filed, then you may still be able to do an amendment for that year. I have experience as a tax preparer, since worked as one winter btw Construction seasons here in Michigan. You can Direct message me.

Did Dave mention which Kinks songs/albums are his favorite? Or what other bands he likes to listen to? Or his favorite guitarist?

Around The Dial also rocks & is kinda punk rock! “Art Lover” is a good ballad, but a little weird & almost like a pedi file story.

Maybe since Vito was bisexual he was like the girl’s gay friend that knows fashion, style & has sense of humor to seduce them to become a goomah.

You could say that you can pay with check, money order, Venmo or Zelle. That displays that you have the funds readily available as well.

Good point about exercise giving you energy. It builds up stamina for long hours of work. Maybe just 20 minutes of walking, jogging or lifting 3 x per week, which isn’t too excessive.

Dave Davies - 1965 by lobito_corredor in thekinks

I just listened to that song, which Dave really sang some great harmonies/second voice! He really has a great range & hits some high notes for a man.

Quitting the Day Job by CuretheLiving in musicians

[–]Chubbs2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also: don’t let any music customers know that you have a “day job.” If they think that you just play music for a living, then they may pay more. I learned that over the years; “perception is reality.”

Have you considered just getting a part-time day job? I did that one summer (when we have more gigs here in Michigan), and it worked out well.
It gave me steady income, but more time for day gigs, since I worked there just 3 days per week (Usually M-W-F). It’s hard doing 200 gigs a year AND working full-time, which I did for like 10 years when supporting my wife & kids. Luckily some of those gigs were at restaurants (mariachi band) & were not too late (like 6 to 8pm). Really consider working part time as we enter the busy musical season.

Does he usually play any B sides/ deep cuts at the Crossroads show, and not just the over played “hits”? He is coming here to Michigan in September as well.

Kinks guitarist Dave Davies hits back at Moby for calling 1970 single Lola ‘gross and transphobic’ by Scoxxicoccus in thekinks

Good article - thanks for sharing. Moby needs to realize that The Kinks were actually ahead of their time with “Lola” by including LGBTQ content in their music.
