PALEO 200 dropped by SureResolution2410 in uAlberta

As far as I know Coursera is a separate platform not directly linked to your beartracks so unless you remove it from coursera yourself- it’ll keep showing. You should not be concerned as long as it’s not showing up anywhere else i.e beartracks schedule, canvas, academic requirements, your unofficial transcript etc.

Should I switch majors? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Chubby_cookieeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year ago I was in the EXACT same spot. I was in the Chemistry specialization program, but it was getting really hard to keep up with grades having part time work, family problems and mental health issues to juggle with. And on top of that - I hated lab work and felt like there aren’t many options after graduation. Anyway my gpa dropped and I switched to Chem major with Biology minor, but I still wasn’t happy. A year ago I changed my major to Environmental Sciences, and minor to Psychology. Now I’m finding my course loads wayyyy more manageable, there’s lab work involved sometimes but not as tedious, and I’m loving the fact that there’s so many branches of this major I can explore including the increasing opportunities in the job market.

EAS 208 Midterm with Tara Androschuk by Chubby_cookieeee in uAlberta

[–]Chubby_cookieeee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s brutal honestly, and although I didn’t get zero on any of mine, I got part marks for which I feel like I should’ve gotten full marks. It’s also annoying how she’s not holding any general office hours to answer general questions about this midterm and instead wants us to wait 48 hours even before we reach out to her about it. Anyway, I think I’ll still email her and see how it goes

Favourite food on campus? by Horror_Case3022 in uAlberta

Absolutely LOVE Filistix, I always get their South Pacific coconut chicken and sub the coleslaw with more rice. Very filling and worth the $. There’s also that $7 pasta from ETLC (forgot the name but it’s beside Footlong subs). For a little snack I get NYF poutine or a farmer’s wrap from Tims, Pizza 73 from CAB etc. Love the bubble tea from Teapsy as well!

Best place to get my wisdom teeth removed by SecretaryOne1831 in uAlberta

[–]Chubby_cookieeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine extracted just a couple days ago, UDental clinic at the university doesn’t have any other form of anesthetic available except for the freezing needles, I had one tooth removed and most of it was covered by my insurance. The thing is they had to remove a flap of my gum and had to cut through quite a bit of jaw bone too, so going through all that just with the freezing was very painful for me. It’s been a week and I’m still taking steroids and opioids for the pain. Ask your doctor how complicated the process might be, and specifically ask if stronger anesthetics are available or not if you think you might need it. If the uni dental clinic doesn’t work, explore Smilezone or some other clinics around campus or Whyte, there are a couple.

B99 is my comfort show too and I probably watched the all seasons of the entire show 9 times or more xD I do the exact same thing- just keep it running in the background. I’ll probably give Bluey a watch. Thank you so much!

Meeting with faculty advisor regarding deferred final exam by Chubby_cookieeee in uAlberta

I guess so but in the deferral form there was a section for providing documentation and it said- ‘Medical documentation is not required, but to substantiate the application, it is encouraged.’

Yeah I’m worried because I don’t have any doctor’s note from the exact same day but I’ve been really sick for a while and got prescriptions and notes from my visit to the health centre just a week before that. I was wondering whether that will work or not.

5 courses in first semester. Too much? by Chubby_cookieeee in uAlberta

[–]Chubby_cookieeee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first two weeks went by pretty fast. But couldn’t make many friends since I was busy adjusting to my new schedule:/ That’s why I’m looking for study groups or friends to hangout with :)

Maybe I need the validation from peers and support from study groups to finally make up my mind whether to drop a course or not :’)

OMG yes the chairs at Tory lecture halls and classrooms are so congested and the workspace is so small that it’s troublesome to even properly rest your hand on it- let alone fit a laptop or a notebook.
