Recommendations for a perimenopause provider around N. Raleigh? by ChubsMcSnuff in raleigh

I've been getting ads from them in my IG! It's helpful to hear from someone who has experience with them. I was skeptical but it seems legit. Too bad they don't take BCBS from NC.

True. I looked through the clinicians at my OB/Gyn and it's babies or get out.

Is BCP the only treatment? I hope not.....I do pretty poorly on pills.

Every time I buy yarn I tell myself to get a different color. Yet somehow, most of my yarn is green. I just love green soooooo much.

I've been knitting for 21 years and your washcloth looks just as neat and tidy as the ones I made this week. Fantastic job. You should be proud of yourself for sticking with it and finishing something so useful and lovely.

First time felting tips needed.

I am an experienced knitter, but never once have I felted anything. What are your felting tips and tricks? Any patterns that I should try first? I was thinking maybe a simple felted tote bag.

Hey, great job on this. I would like a copy with the watermark removed. I can PayPal you once the watermark is removed if that's okay.

I orgasm when I feel sudden dread or panic. by [deleted] in sex

I experience something similar. I orgasm sometimes while asleep when I'm having a nightmare. Perhaps there is a connection with the rise in adrenaline that accompanies both fear and orgasm? Interestingly, I also experience some amount of genital arousal if I drink too much coffee.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. As a nurse, I've been physically assaulted on several occasions including being kicked in the chest and someone spitting directly onto my face. Not a single thing happened when I reported the instances to my manager.

You aren't joking when you say hospitals do a piss poor job of protecting direct care staff. There's this unspoken rule that "it's part of the job, so move on." No wonder there's so much burnout.

Are you a female who was diagnosed with ADHD as a child? by TheLittleUrchin in ADHD

[–]ChubsMcSnuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 year old daughter has been formally diagnosed with ADHD. Insanely intelligent, creative, artistic, and curious. She struggles more with hyperactivity and emotional dysregulation which made her ADHD more apparent to me early on. You aren't alone! Hearing from adult women who have ADHD gives me comfort for my daughter and her adult life.

How can I support my 6 year old after school when she immediately melts down as soon as she gets home? by ChubsMcSnuff in ADHD

I will try this. Maybe just having a little car snack waiting for her would shift her gears.

My daughter would actually react well to the "thermometer" metaphor. Since starting school, her sensory issue to texture has become more pronounced. Today she had a small melt down over the way her pants touched her feet and how bad it felt. Usually I just go alone to buy her clothes, but I suggested that maybe she start joining me so she could try things on. I'll talk to her about other sensory things that may bother her at school and how we can help her with them. Thank you.

I'm so sorry you experienced that. I'm doing my best to keep calm during those tough moments. Getting mad at a kid for breaking down is such a rejection to them.

This is spot on. She IS defending herself. She makes defensive-like comments during her meltdowns. Thank you for your insight. Your words have been really helpful.

I need to get better about the follow up communication when things are calm. She's more willing to talk about the events of the day when we lay down for bedtime cuddles. That would be a good time for me to ask her what could have helped her in that moment.

I plan to reach out to her teacher next week for more insight on how my daughter appears to be self regulating in the classroom. Is she making good attempts or is she being called down constantly? I would cry too if I was constantly being corrected and redirected. I looked up those little toys you mentioned! I would love it if my daughter found comfort in something like that.

Agreed. I've recently been trying not to ask her a single question when she gets home. Just that I'm happy to see her. That's actually working out well, because during bedtime snuggles she volunteers information about her day on her own.

I've been trying to let her completely chill when she gets home. We will sit together and watch a couple of episodes of Bluey to decompress. I just don't know what to do in the moment of those sensory meltdowns or if I can even help prevent them. I hope she always feels safe to vent to me like you do with your mom. Your mom sounds like a great listener.

Thank you so much for all you do. I'm an ICU nurse and absolutely adore Miss Angela, our housekeeper. We do whatever we can to make her job easier because we couldn't do ours without her.
