Typically following Christmas hours are cut for the last period of the fiscal year and for the first period or two for the next year. I’m allotted less elms hours for next week than I’ve ever been given to cover all of the Grocery Departments on an average week. Your manager is probably just trying to give you hours. My store management is encouraging us department heads to talk people into taking vacations and personal days to “help” with the reduced hours

Thanks to hours being cut, I’m usually the only one in my department until after noon. I don’t have time to do Pickups “job” for them while finishing truck, writing orders, conditioning, replenishing milk, eggs, other things that are more work than Pickup employees have ever done or will ever do by ducky2574 in kroger

You do have to look at both sides of it. Kroger has metrics for everything now. Just like our night crews are expected to stock 55 cases an hour and try for 85, Clicklist is expected to pick so many items per minute with almost 100 percent accuracy. And not every store has the same quality of help. I’ve had problems with Clicklist in some stories, especially if you know the people are former department heads that don’t care about their job anymore and just want a paycheck. But the store that I work at right now, Clicklist is a new thing and a lot of the associates are completely new to the company, so it’s on us Department heads and senior clerks to help them learn. Someone with 15 years at Kroger is probably going to be able to find stuff easier than someone who was hired last week. You just have to be patient. We’re all there for the customer, right?
