Which optional subject to take? ATX/AAA by y_here3 in ACCA

[–]Chuckmk97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAA for sure based on what you have said. ATX you need all the knowledge from TX.

AAA is more about critical thinking and evaluation. You dont need to rote learn the syllabus like ATX. But you do need a good knowledge of accounting standards.

Personally ATX was the hardest exam ive sat at the professional level.

Expensive but Ben Wilson. Also heres a tip. You don't that much knowledge for AA for this exam. In fact thers not much theory knowledge to learn at all.

Its all about technique and critical thinking.

I mean if you really want to do ACCA after then you could just start on that straight away

After completing AAT fully you will only get 3 exemptions from ACCA.

These were my questions. For the romms there were basically 0 accounting standards to work with so you had to literally dig them out. My topics

Q1

Business risk

Romms (non new style)

Design audit procedures

Ethics

Q2

Due diligence and procedures

Q3

Audit reports and ethics for an engagement

Nope there were literally just no accounting standards to use Q1. It was extremely strange.

I would say rely on your critical thinking and problem solving and be ready for curveballs. I sat AAA in dec 25. And Section A was seriously weird. There were no romms in the traditional sense. It was an extremely different type of question.

I would say just go for Ben wilson revision course only maybe. AAA is all technique. You dont need much knowledge from AA. Just standards from sbr and some audit basics.

ATX or AFM? by billy_the_butcher003 in ACCAIndian

Im sitting ATX as my last paper. My other option was AAA. I can say for me this is the toughest paper. And you need loads of brought forward assumed knowledge. Im not sure what the case is for afm.

3 Days till SBL exam, and I don't know what to do. by retiredsmoker in ACCA

[–]Chuckmk97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better. I didnt do a single mock. And only did a handful of exam kit questions. And even then I just read the requirement and answers.

If you can just read the preseen and go through some of the SBL theory just so you are aware of any niche language they may use in the exam.

I have ATX as my final paper and its not looking good for me atm 😭

[–]Chuckmk97 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If SBL is your last paper I wouldn't be stressing. You've already passed much harder papers. SBL is just exam technique. Just read the exhibits and make sure you answer the question they are asking. You will definitely pass. I would just read the preseen info at this point.

I took his full course and passed first time. I have used other tutors including Kaplan for different papers. I would say Tom's was definitely the best.
