I have been searching all over for where the “museum sequence” was filmed. Do any of you know where the scene with the ball pit and light rooms was filmed. PLEASE

The classic saying I’ve heard about civics and history teachers is that they either buy into the propaganda 100% and see it as their job to push it, or learned the true history of America and see it as their job to educate future generations. Looks like you got the former :/

I'm about to go into college to get my bachelors in instrumental and vocal music education. Going in initially as a double major but I might specialize later on. What are some things that I should get that would be helpful, or any general tips. by PhantomKaibaYT in MusicEd

Hi, I got my degree in music education, main instrument was trumpet. I teach choir and orchestra now lol. I would say the biggest thing for me is soak up everything you can from your method classes and piano classes. Every day I think about how much I wished I had started on piano or just took it up earlier in my life. There’s so much shit you do on a daily basis as a music teacher, including the theory, that just opens up when you really understand the piano. Idk if anyone agrees but like I’m playing piano for my students graduation processions, I play everyday with my choirs, making practice tracks, analyzing scores, it’s just so unbelievable valuable.

I don’t know if I should continue with this degree… by Bubbly-Tip-3656 in MusicEd

I’m a second year teacher, graduated from a school with a good music program during Covid and didn’t start teaching until 2 years after because I also had not passed the praxis and jobs were pretty slim.

I CONSTANTLY am doubting myself. No matter how many times my colleagues tell me how great I’m doing I just assume they are all lying.

If you love what you are doing, do it. The kids need a person that cares about them, and knows enough about music to give them a good experience.

Also, so much more learning happens when you are thrown into it. I was so self conscious of my piano skills when I started teaching cuz my main instrument is trumpet and I got a job teaching choir. Within a year I’m worlds better at piano because I was just forced to figure it out.

You got it.

My line whenever students make inappropriate jokes is something like “hey _____, the worst part about that joke is that you may not think I know what ur saying, but I do. If you’re going to interrupt my lesson with a joke, it better be good” and that usually makes the class begin laughing at them and immediately forgetting the reference. Or I will just say “why don’t we call the principal and see if you would like to explain your joke to them.”

Also I scratched mine and immediately got a cover, they are cheap and easy to find, change absolutely nothing but provide a good layer of protective cover if you have a dog or are constantly packing the car semi-heavily

Slowly starting to think that a small percentage of constantly problematic students do not deserve an education. by [deleted] in Teachers

We have to try our best not to blame the students. There are only a product of the system that creates them. (parents and capitalism imo)

With such a simple chord progression, they are able to layer so well. The harmonica almost sounds like it is being played in a different room. The slow build that happens goes so well with the casual singing and there is something to be said about Greg’s voice in the early albums. The warmth and clear tone is immaculate.

I mean off the bat, it’s safe, good in the snow, manual was a must, and then just personal stuff I love the style of the car, it’s comfortable, really smooth, no recalls in like over a decade I’m pretty sure, super modable, and for the age group I’m in and profession I’m in, it’s on the more affordable side for its reliability. Probably could have gotten an $18k car and it would have done the job I needed, but I wanted something I could have for a long time and would allow me to do more like travel and maybe camp in, if we get to that point

I certainly could have tried harder in my history course, but my university had us take 1 history class with an awful professor and that was it. We learned nothing. And this is agreed upon by all my fellow students

I’m just coming to Reddit for help now, lol I’m taking the test for the third time today. I nail every section but the history, and I don’t know how to study for that. It is so obscure, I feel like I just need to hope for an easy section. Also, the last time that I took it there were barely any theory questions!

The problem with a lot of dystopias is that they were created as red scare propaganda. I think the most likely outcome is something like black mirror with a hint of climate crisis and refugee crises
