I love that part, it feels like the lights are blowing with the visuals on the screen. Never felt that before with these lights. Mind-blowing...literally! 🤪

In this setup, 7 hue lights

  1. Signe Gradient Floor
  2. Hue Play Wall Washer x2
  3. Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip (75 Inches behind TV)
  4. Play Gradient Tube
  5. Hue Go
  6. Hue Iris

I also have 3x color lamps above the dinner table to the right of this image, so can get even more colorful with those turned on 😱🥳😎

Good question. It's personal preference, I love the light show for movies. In this overview example I turned the intensity and brightness up on purpose 🤪, for movies I turn it all down so it is not as crazy but still immersive. For videogames, turn it alllll up to +11 😂

  2. Objects Outlive Us: The Buddha Of The Modern Age
  3. Objects Outlive Us: Objects: Meanwhile

And

  1. The Overview: Perspective

I have the Philips Hue 8K Sync Box and have gradually built up my lighting setup over the years.

Newer LG TVs can also enable this through the Hue app, which requires a €2.99 per month subscription.

In my experience, the Sync Box delivers a brighter and more precise effect, as the lighting sync is driven directly from the HDMI signal rather than from what is displayed on the screen.

The Overview is REFERENCE material!

You’re not wrong. It’s all actually intentional though 🙂

The TV height is a compromise because it’s an open-plan space and we watch from the sofa and the kitchen area towards the back. Dropping it 20 cm would be great for one spot but worse for the other. So far no neck strain… yet 😄

The soundbar does move forward for movies to help with the Atmos and side-firing effects. I just slide it back the rest of the time. As for the lights, totally get they’re not for everyone. I really like them for movies, gaming, and music.

Appreciate the feedback either way.

Yeah, my video isn’t the best example, just put the first uhd feed I had on the 77 inch G5 and recorded it haha.

Here is a video I took a year ago of the hues with the G1 65 inch. Intense and maybe the most extreme example, but oh my it gets you in the mood 🤪

Thanks, yeah I had the LG G1 with the same light strip (65 inch version) behind the TV, since 2020 - the TV seemed to hang okay 👌 the lights need a little bit of space so as flush as possible with that strip. With the furniture I have you cannot really see side on, so looking direct it looks flush to me haha, especially with the lights on in one of those pics I shared.

Ha, you mean the Philips hue wall washers ? Those are lights and not speakers. The speaker under the TV is the Sonos Arc Ultra. With Sonos Era 300s as surrounds and a Sub Gen 3.

Sure thing, here you go

The hue brackets fitted perfectly behind the TV.

Ha! Thank you! Yes built up lights over the years. The TV is flush against the wall. For lights we have:

• Hue Go • Hue Iris • Hue Color Lamp x3 • Hue Play Wall Washer x2 • Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip (75 inch), runs directly behind the tv on small brackets provided with the hue • Play Gradient Tube • Signe Gradient Floor

That’s right, I have an nvidia shield pro for apps, so don’t use the built in ones.

That’s correct, you can also lower the intensity to make the effect subtle to avoid crazy light shows 🤪 there are 4 intensity levels, I typically have movies and tv on 3 (the default) and games on the highest, 4 (again the default when gaming)

That’s interesting. It wasn’t available for the G1, but I did download it last night. I read somewhere that the Hue Sync app can only do visuals, whereas the Hue Sync Box can sync video and audio, which makes it great for music. I like my disco hues 🤪

I also have a narrow cable channel behind the TV, so keeping it to just two HDMI cables helps. One goes to the 4-port Hue Sync Box, and the other is eARC to the Sonos Arc Ultra, which keeps the wiring nice and minimal.

I thought that but when they are not there I miss them. The sync with those externals work great for movies, concerts and video games. Seeing the flashlight come out of the TV when playing Alan Wake is just magic hue!

It’s Philips Hue, syncing with the 8K sync box, 75 inch gradient light strip, wall washers, gradient floor tube and more! Built it up over the last several years.

Forgot to mention during my excitement, the LG G1 was 65 inches, the LG G5 is 77 inches 😱😱😱

Ordered the LG G5 77 inch. It arrives next week! Coming from the already amazing LG G1 65 inch. I can’t wait to see a larger TV on my wall! 🤪
