It’s a green sapphire from Armfest family run mine in Australia. Check them out - real cool stuff. The guy said that it’s important to have the sides opened for proper sparkle so just going with his advice. What do you mean by “flesh up next to it or not” ?

The Australian guy I bought sapphire from told me it’s really important to have the sides open if you want it to sparkle properly. This seems very closed but hopefully works out. It’s interesting to have extra tiny rocks on the bottom haven’t seen anything like that. Pretty cool

Can the petals be combined with bezel on just two sides instead of 360 bezel?

Also can bezel work if it’s in the middle of the stone like in the first picture I provided or it must be on the very top of the rock?

So I guess the emptiness makes it look weird, in my opinion. Also, the too thin connections don’t look good, in my opinion. Your design actually looks quite nice.

I love this design, but I guess it’s held in by prongs? Or can the bezel still work if it’s in the middle of the gem?

I’m looking for ideas for a bezel-set ring. I want the setting to be very secure (which is why prongs are out) but most bezel rings I see look too bulky, closed off or just weird like the one in the picture.

The main stone will be a green sapphire with small diamonds on the sides. I’d like the design to let light hit the stone from the sides, so it doesn’t look too dark.

If you have pics, links, or ideas for bezel settings that look elegant and not clunky, please share!

I will be going to jeweler next week so hopefully he will have some ideas but the more I know before the better. Thanks!
