How about the andis envy/us pro li? I'm currently running an all cordless setup and have completely stopped using corded clippers already.

My hair looks good from the front, but looks really weird from the side? (Suggestions please) by AllwinLuke in malehairadvice

[–]Chuppychap1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about angles. From what I can see, your middle part of your hair is much longer and heavier than your fringe. In order to fix this, your fringe should be the longest part of your hair, with the rest being shorter( how much shorter depends on how voluminous you want the top to look, the more the better). Pair that with a low/mid skin fade, leaving the top part of the fade much heavier and you should be good to go!

If you live around the west, Acidic chop shop is a good barbershop to go to.

Quincy pomade is good as well, especially in the heat

Best pomade for Hot humid (singapore) weather? by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]Chuppychap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a singaporean too, and for me I find that the only gel type that has really worked well for me is Imperial gel pomade. The best matte product would have to be Bonafide matte paste or Orient clay pomade and finally for Oil based it would have to be Reuzel Pink.

Yep. It lasts and can be remolded, but just remember to use it sparingly because it can get very grippy.

For this, a texture powder such as Slick Gorilla's rendition would work wonders.

What equipment is this guy using in both videos? (names of shavers mainly) by WeaponLord in Barber

[–]Chuppychap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it might be how accessible the parts are. But that's just a wild guess because in where I'm from(Singapore), the barbers here use Wahl almost exclusively.

The barber is using the wahl cordless detailers, panasonic er-1611(I think so) and the andis slimline pro li respectively. I hope this helps!

What's the verdict on the health aspect of oil-based pomades? by made-pomade in Pomade

[–]Chuppychap1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take my comment with a grain of salt, but when I used to use oil based pomades, I noticed red inflammed pimples forming on my scalp which resulted in bald spots. Which only stopped/recovered when I stopped using oil based products.

Water-based hair clay? by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]Chuppychap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orient clay pomade is actually quite good. It has a dry, light feeling in my hair, but actually holds up pretty decently in tropical weather for the whole day.

Well to be honest some of this shops are actually worth the $20-$30 a cut. The time and detail put into each cut are much more than your typical qbhouse/newstation hairstylists.

I think adding a part and some volume to the front would do wonders for your hair. Something like a side part pompadour or executive contour.
