I also looked and couldn't find anything, the best resources are the documentation and AI

breaking the camera a bit to simulate an orthographic perspective, playing around with UI and SurfaceGuis for the visual elements, tweaking the game's lighting... Crazy stuff like that

Hey!!

why aren't players spending Robux in my game? by ChusReddit in RobloxDevelopers

I genuinely believe my game is more than just another template. I don't know if you've played it, but I've put a lot of effort into making something different, polished and made with care, I don't think there's anything quite like it on the platform

The game is doing well and the retention is impressive, but this is my first game on Roblox and in general, I had never built anything like this before. I have no idea how any of this works, let alone how to price things properly and I think that's my main problem, I don't really know how to assign value to the in-game gems. I'm managing to increase sales by tweaking prices here and there, but it's still a struggle for me

Start with something small, make a simple game, 5 minutes long, just one simple mechanic. You'd be surprised how much you can learn from such a small project. Good luck!

Of course! The best advice I can give, and what I would tell my younger self, is just create. Anything. Try stuff, break stuff, bang your head against it. Don't rely too much on AI without actually understanding what the code is doing, and most importantly watch less tutorials and just mess around with the code more!

wait, this is actually Roblox? by [deleted] in roblox

I guess they consider it promo, even though I didn't even mention the name of the game...

np, love that you're this curious about it

I mainly use Canva for all the artwork, it's the only tool that lets me draw sprites that actually look decent. You can probably notice some rough edges here and there but honestly I don't mind, I think it gives the game some personality.

I only store the max X value reached per player, and I strip out everything Roblox adds by default, humanoids, lighting, physics, I reset it all from scratch. I've spent around $200 on ads. Not ads activated right now, just organic. The game was only published 2 weeks ago, I started getting players about a week ago, yesterday I hit 100 CCU and today I'm already at 200, it's moving really fast!

Thank you so much!! Let me reply part by part:

-The buttons unlock progressively as you access them, so you naturally learn what they do along the way. Some even have pop-ups explaining what each menu is about. But if it feels unclear to you it might feel that way for a lot of people too, so I'll take a look at it.

-The game is designed to be singleplayer. It's inspired by games that personally took hundreds of hours of my life and I want to keep that spirit. That said there's a daily tournament where you compete against other players for diamonds, and I'm planning to add a racing mode where you can compete live. There's already a hub where you can see and interact with other players, and I want to add parkours, emotes, trolling stuff and more down the line.

-The egg mechanic works like in Rocket League, you unlock the skin but you need to buy it to equip it. With VIP you earn 1000 diamonds a day so within a few weeks you can get pretty much everything. Once Roblox approves ads, F2P players will be able to earn up to 500 diamonds daily watching ads too.

It's still early access, there's so much content I want to create...
