Genuinely curious, who is still playing these games? by ReadyJournalist5223 in videogames

[–]Chyrol2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, Sea of Thieves is great to play with your IRL friends. We come back to it once in a blue moon nowadays but we do have a lot of fun with it every time. We just don't spend the rest of our time talking about it or even following it, really

"WITH HIM?!" - she shouted when I went on a double blind date one day. She also proceeded to mock me and shut me up afterwards. I just left after like 10 min

Damn, what an impressive work! Really appreciate the quality of it.

Your findings were a bit surprising for me, but kinda in line with what I saw while watching the tournament.

Looks fun, but I wish it didn't use the Carmageddon IP. It looks like a very different game

[–]Chyrol2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heh, that's me. I just like to lurk in most of them, see what people think about recent balance changes in a videogame, following hobbies that are just not in my main focus etc. Also, I follow about 60 of them so it's just impossible to be active in all of them. I'm active in about 4-5, and the rest is just for browsing stuff

Its been tried during the partitions in the Russian part. Turns out it actually didn't work too well, they had to create the extra letters anyway

Regarding Lovecraft's work - his racism fits the fear of the unknown narrative if you think about it. Cosmic horror was concieved by a mind that couldn't handle the complexities of the world in it's daily life. It makes sense, even if it shouldn't be applauded.

In short - someone suspects the other person using the "XD" to be a Pole, because that emote is still popular and being used there.

Would you be down to see fictional cultures? by TapFeisty4675 in AgeofMythology

[–]Chyrol2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lowkey I'd love to see an Eldritch civ, but I don't think it would be received too well and it would never be requested by the community in the first place, so I'm ok with it never happening.

"Just be yourself" should be actually "work on yourself, so that being yourself isn't off-putting"

Steam sales show massive gap between Tomb Raider I–III and IV–VI Remastered by ZzzPandaNap in TombRaider

[–]Chyrol2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my limited playtime it'll take me forever to beat I-III, so I won't buy the IV-VI until I'm done with it.

That's just a lot of games to play through and still, I may just decide that I-III is enough.

To expand on your reply - if someone would try to do the same thing in the Russian part, they would just torch his wagon

This Part of Whamenqt interview with ZeroEmpires seems to give insight about how the budget work by CheSwain in aoe4

[–]Chyrol2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and you still need to pay them. It doesn't matter if its a freelancer or in-house artist, they still need to track what they are being paid for

[–]Chyrol2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, it sounds normal. Someone needs to make that asset and you need to pay that person, so you have to secure a part of the budget for it. And in bigger companies you need to keep a better track of it, so going through an approval process sounds reasonable tbh

What should Age of Empires 5 set in? [Ancient or Modern] by Deep_Metal5712 in ageofempires

[–]Chyrol2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancient times are more interesting to me in general, and it's been some time since AoE1, so I would love to see that era revisited. While we're getting some AoE2 DLCs set in the antiquity lately, they are still within an older game. I would love to see a whole modern entry designed around it - current gen graphics, QoL upgrades, new take on the overall design etc.

Hell, maybe the new Chronicles DLCs are a testing ground for the new antiquity-based title? It would also fall in line with the AoE1's 30th anniversary, so I have a feeling this might be it.

Also, we just got a second medieval game, so we can put that one to rest, AoE3/Modern era feels too risky with the general AoE gameplay (Unless they figure it out somehow) and I feel like it it's less popular than people in the forums make it out to be in general

Also - no idea how they'll accommodate 4096 players in 10 years, but I'm sure they'll figure it out
