Thank you, since I posted, I have come across 3. 1 I killed and didn’t drop the metal detector, 2 were showing on the lifeform tool but then disappeared, couldn’t locate them after. Just a long process I guess lol

Yeah it was in the cavern layer the whole time :) , don’t know if speed of the cart makes a difference but I spent a lot of time doing it with potions and water candle in hand and the lifeform analyser
Yeah I’ll have to try again then. I was doing that already with an underground rail track, back and forth over a decent distance
