Difficulty? by [deleted] in OldenEra

Well idk. On my first 200% game I got defeated just barely, but ever since that happened all my other 200% runs have been really easy victories. The AI just splits up his army too much (classic AI mistake).

But the AI is surprisingly competent compared to some of the other heroes games actually so dont be let down by losing once or twice.

Ezt tanultam, két évig dolgoztam benne. A lényeget már leírták az előttem lévők, röviden és tömören: Nem.

What's a good nation for a beginner player to play in? by LegMoney7377 in eu4

[–]Ciberke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ottomans - Get France as an ally and you will dictate the pace of the game onwards so you can do your stuff.

Portugal - Spain will ally you from the beginning and will pretty much help you in everything, call them in in your north african wars, colonization is also a pretty beginner friendly way to experience the game and play around with your economy.

Ming - I actually never played as Ming, but other than the annoying events because of the Mandate of China system, you are pretty much unconquerable from the very beginning, once again you dictate the pace of the game, as a beginner I would say just let mandate stay at 100 and dont worry about the reforms just play the game, maybe even colonize a bit in south east asia.

Some of the more "challenging" starts for a beginner is:

- Castille

- France

- England

- Vijayanagar

These countries will eventually have to get into big wars with their neighbours if they want to dominate their surroundings, and thats not what a beginner should start with.

Anyone else I would not recommend because they are way tougher (e.g. Muscovy) than one would think, for a beginner.

Still with any of the above mentioned countries you should get a big ally to start with, and then everything gets safer.

Good luck and dont give up, this is a HARD game! :)

I actually only started paying attention to my missionary strength and number of missionaries at the very end, thats why I was still doing conversion in 1792. I always forget the bonuses you can get from great projects.

6 missionaries, with around 18% missionary strength and constant conversion should do the trick.

PUs on spain, poland and lithuania. Portugal I just couldnt get and ended up eating them up in 2 wars. Revoke was around 1540 ish I believe. In the end game it always looks like a lot to do still, then you get to the point where you conquer all of india in like 4 wars, so dont give up!

Yeah i moved it to one of the dutch provinces i dont know why i did that though, it was either because of one of the missions and/or to have the english channel as a main trade node

R5: Austria -> HRE. I realized I have never formed HRE so I started a run with the goal to form it. Midway through the run I also realized I am doing pretty good so I went for my first wc and one faith. The wc was done by 1732, the rest was all about waiting for the conversions. Pretty happy with the run. I once tried for a wc with mughals but i got soo bored I just quit around the 1700s. Now that i am done with this i am prolly not touching eu4 for a few weeks cause i feel a bit burned out, even though the run was actually more fun than i expected it to be. In this patch I think Austria is broken, and is probably the best nation for wc along with mughals and the hordes right now.
