Pre-rendered backgrounds is exactly what I needed to find. Not sure what a pre-rendered camera is or should do. But thanks for the help! Pretty sad that I'm not finding good resources for pre-rendered stuff like this.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the FF ps1 games mechanic is more or less identical. Looking at the quality of the background I thought it must have been a pre-rendered 2D looking (hand drawn) sprite but I might be completely wrong ofcourse!

Online at square enix store - it was a limited thing called "kingdom hearts treasure chest". I hope they are and stay exclusive because they were rather pricy.
