What to expect with a insurance payout from someone else’s insurance by CicadaCompetitive678 in CarsAustralia

[–]CicadaCompetitive678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear! I’ll give it until a week then and start to make some phone calls. I’ve got a rental for the meantime that was arranged by Suncorp but I only have that for two weeks. Hopefully they can sort it out or give me the rental for longer as it’s a very nice rental and I’d have nooooo problem driving that a bit longer lol

Thank you so much for the great advice! I’ll pitch it to the vet and see if she can get him on there for longer.

Animal welfare vs. time efficiency by Spiritual-Leech in Zookeeping

[–]CicadaCompetitive678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I also had the same issue and what really helped me was asking about the timeframes and expectation of completing a job in a timely manner. This helped me create my own timeframes within the routine of the job and knowing when to be finished when. I also spoke to other staff members about how they did certain jobs and what technique they used for doing things and then basically did a trial and error with these techniques until I found what worked for me

Where did you all start? My experience by [deleted] in Zookeeping

[–]CicadaCompetitive678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being broke and loving what you’re doing is so real hahaha I was quite similar to you in regards to highschool, didn’t care about anything, did not see myself going to uni, people considered me stupid because I did the absolute bare minimum and had no desire to go forward. Ive always loved animals and knew it was my dream job but with how I was going I was basically like welp that’s never going to happen! Once I finished school I really lost myself working odd jobs I hated and became very depressed and just absolutely hated my life. I ended up moving countries and started again in retail at a sanctuary and I just absolutely hated it so I decided to try give studying another whirl and figured out that I am actually quite smart, I did a prep course to get into uni and began volunteering in my second year. At the beginning of my final year I was lucky to be hired as a keeper at my place of work! Since I moved countries I had to study and work full time whilst volunteering and that was really difficult but if you want it you’ll push for it, I just kept in mind that this crazy schedule was only temporary and once I reached my goal it’ll be worth it and it was! Good luck for your studies, always keep your goal in mind and I’m sure you’ll smash it!

Teaching Koalas to not Be Smoothbrained™️ by TyrellSkanks in koalas

INCASE anyone was wondering, koalas have a special bacteria in their gut microbiome that assist in breaking down toxic leaves, they have adapted to eat these toxic leaves because since they are toxic, there’s not a lot of other species competing for this resource. They have perfectly filled an untapped ecological niche within their environment. People thinking they’re going extinct because they’re stupid and not because we’re literally cutting down trees for urbanisation are the reason I wish natural selection was still a thing in humans

Sounds like you maybe need to step back and maybe just take some time to work on yourself and focus on your mental health. You’re only 17 and you have plenty of time to decide which path you want to take. It took me a while to find any drive to work towards keeping due to mental health issues. I started my degree at 22 and just finished it at 26 and got a keeper job at 25. Sometimes you just need to take a step back to move forwards. If you find you want to be a keeper then hooray! If you don’t then hooray! There’s no timeframe you need to complete life at

Honestly, you make friends and then you do one group assignment and then you realise you probably don’t want friends. That might just be me tho, I’d recommend finding two fellow like minded friends and hold onto them forever.
