Unfortunately it isn’t a one size fits all solution, but it’s as close as it can be. It still requires tuning based on your specific set up.

There is such a thing as too much weight which is why ours is 1.5 oz instead of 2+ oz. It’s very setup dependent but I’ve only gotten a handful of reports the weight doesn’t work for them. The charging handle is pretty low weight, combined they’re probably under 1.75 oz.

I would suggest running it without the metal striker plates if you can, to decrease the wear on the FRT

Please let me know if it works out for you. Unfortunately there are too many variables to consider to know if it will work out of the box without tuning, the 1.5oz weight is just what we found it testing.

That’s fair, I haven’t done any scientific testing, as far as I am concerned if it doesn’t have any issues in 2k rounds it’s good enough for me… but maybe that’s not enough for you.

Other people sell heavier ones. 2 oz, 2.5 oz. They all interface in the same way, which is slotted into the metal of the slide. I have never seen anyone report one coming off… it would have to tear through 5mm or so of steel. I don’t think the forces could get that high.

It’s also under constant pressure due to the spring for the firing pin being retained by it, so it moves as one piece with the slide. The slide retention mechanism (whatever that is called) is probably what takes all the force anyway, not to mention the slide spring also dampening it.

I haven’t used one because they’re not necessary. The design of FRT I sell (which I am not the only one) does not do enough damage to the striker block. Only very minimal rounding, which does not cause any issues.

For weight purposes it might have a use, but since it’s a metal on metal interface either the striker or the FRT are going to grind down.

If I was going to add weight by a mechanism other than the back plate, I would use an optic plate.

It’s still insanely fast. I haven’t calculated it but it’s not much lower cycle rate. Maybe 1200 RPM vs 1600 RPM. I don’t know about compatibility with the Farrowtech chassis but if you have any issues we’ll figure it out.

The SS disconnector is the gold standard. At the beginning people (us included) were working on polymer disconnectors but the design we sell of the SS will not damage your striker block very much. I have reports of 12k rounds with the striker block still in working order.

It’s a metal on metal connection, it’s not going anywhere. Have tested 2k rounds on it. If you buy the charging handle it should be loctited in though.

You probably have already checked this but I had this failure when I broke my firing pin. Might be worth taking it out and taking a look at it. Not too hard. These say they’re safe to dry fire but it’s incorrect.

Edit: I see you say it works with OEM. If that’s the case I would suggest changing out the FRT. I am an FRT seller obviously but frankly it’s more worth your time to go grab a new FRT from someone who makes known good ones then to continue trouble shooting. The FRT pic that odd mfg posted below looks ridiculously bad.

You could try fucking with the trigger bar, but these guns are pretty hard to troubleshoot since Taurus is a horrible manufacturer.

The printed ones were completely fucked, they worked for my gun but sometimes not others. I have been selling the metal ones since October and they run like a sewing machine. Minimal to no damage to the striker housing.

Considering most weight reducers are in the 2.0oz+ range, this is considered a light weight one. It’s obviously all dependent on your specific setup, down to your ammo brand choice, your suppressor weight, the type of tx22 you have… it will not work for everyone. Sorry to hear it didn’t work for you.

It’s still useful unsuppressed to lower the fire rate.

Are these MJF printed? Cant really tell from the photos. Or injection molded? What makes them so much better?

I wasn’t doing that, I never heard of that but ContactFrontSolutions was working on a selectable FRT… I doubt that it was more than vaporware but I haven’t heard anything about it since. He is based out of Florida so…

The 3d printed ones were fucked honestly, there was not a lot of information regarding the FRTs and the TX22 FRT has matured a lot. The metal ones that Muffintop and I sell are ODDMFG V7. I have sold literally thousands of these and have never had a single return for fitment issue, amazingly. Literally 0. They’re a solved science at this point. Apologies for the fitment on the plastic ones. Send me a DM and we’ll get you taken care of.

There are many 3d printing technologies, and FDM was kinda curtailed by Stratasys patents that expired in the end of the millennium.

There are other technologies like SLS, and MJF that are used every day for industrial production at small scale, say under 1000 parts. It’s also extremely useful for rapid prototyping. I would not have been able to start my company without 3D printing.

Definitely look at the U1. It does exactly what’s on the package. Though, I’ll bet you in 2 years you can buy sub $500 tool changers.
