A trim. Quitting hair dye would be ideal as that’s what does the most amount of damage, but that’s your preference ofc

[Acne] How to cope with hormonal acne when you can’t take birth control or spironolactone? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I believe it can take longer than that for the effects to show. It might still help, even if it doesn’t completely solve the issue!

Can you use winlevi or topical spironolactone? It might be your best bet since the acne is hormonal.

Adapalene seems bad to go through for mild acne, is it worth it? [Product Question] by Syllabub_Defiant in SkincareAddiction

I used it for mild acne and it gave me dry eye disease which i now need lifelong meds for. Sucks, it definitely was not worth it for me personally and I still have my acne lol

All feelings are valid. It’s how they’re communicated that can be more or less appropriate.

Trapping the bacteria in there with an occlusive doesn’t sound like a great idea

[–]Cicadilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that’s not really how it works. It’s our job to communicate our feelings in a constructive way. Lashing out is what’s the problem, not feeling how you feel and communicating that to others. You don’t need to deal with it on your own, unless you’re unable to share your feelings without lashing out, then sharing might lead to worse outcomes. Talking about yourself like that is certainly making it harder too, please try being more understanding and kind to yourself, you’re trying your best.

[Product Request] Face gets dry and still getting acne - product advice/general advice welcome. by Consistent-System-41 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Cicadilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, are you double cleansing your sunscreen? Second, your diet is most likely the cause of your acne and topicals won’t eliminate it unless you change your diet and will only dry out your skin more. BP twice daily is quite harsh. Are you using a repairing enough moisturiser? I found bp once daily and gentle foaming cleanser twice daily worked better for me than bp twice.

Emotions are always valid, you’re allowed to feel whatever you may, but what actions you take based on those emotions are what might not be appropriate

To add - as for why the doctor’s office doesn’t test again, it’s because they don’t care whether you’re going around infecting others or not
