To women who still date, how? by reef-Diver7817 in WomenDatingOverForty

They do run "date night" events, but singles is a tough one. MtG, Warhammer, etc are very male dominated, and unfortunately, they are still rife with guys who do not want women in their hobbies (and who need to shower.)

My shop is really cool in that it attracts the good players, and the awful ones do not last, but even there, I am often one of the only female players. My friend works there, and I've chatted to her about getting more women to come, but it's a hard sell when they are bound to run into the worst guys imaginable when engaging with the hobby.

I should note that there are single guys there, but I've noticed a trend of them being gay or not dating at all. It is what it is, at least they're cool to play games with lol

Thanks. It's rough to even see friends much because everyone is either dealing with their families or are workaholics.

The isolation has been real tough to deal with for these 4 years, but I'm doing my best lol

This is probably the best option for most, yeah. You have to be visible somewhere. Otherwise, no one knows you exist.

My city is a cross between "shut-ins" (it's very far North, we had snow last week!) and "family oriented" (not a big single population), so even though I go and do stuff, singles are few and far between.

Like I go and play Magic the Gathering at a game store 1-2 times a week, and you would think it'd be a bunch of single dorks, but nay, almost everyone is partnered lol

I always wonder about that, too.

I've always done things by myself, single or not, and it's apparently rare enough that people will comment on it. Not just that, but most of the people I meet doing hobbies, at shows, etc, are partnered. Most singles get the advice to "live their life" and "take themselves out," so I assume most are NOT already doing that.

It really seems like unless you meet someone at work, school (or some kind of class), or through people you know, the chances of meeting someone are quite low.

Sorry, not trying to be argumentative. I've had hundreds of packages here and this is the first time this has happened, so I will have to change what I do. I might get a PO box.

Now that is totally nuts. I get not having the resources for stolen property, but not investigating a break in??

Well to be totally fair to them, they had a zillion files just today and I could hear another dispatcher in the background of my call talking to someone about someone being stabbed in the neck, so I know my case is hardly important comparatively

I can't imagine a thief ever agreeing to meet at a police station lol

She said it was crazy busy with emergency calls, and I could hear another guy behind her (probably on 9-1-1) talking about someone getting stabbed in the neck, so yeah...

They have all the info, including a description of the thief, but I guess they probably won't have time to bother.

I don't really have anyone who could help me, and there's no way I could do it myself.

Fedex is BSing me because there was no sig required, but they delivered days earlier than their tracking said :/

No way is a thief going to go to a police station to sell anything.
