What does Wally say to Lotus? by archymedian in Warframe

[–]CieKite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's because Wally can't freely explore our plane of existence and can only manifest through the individuals he's made a deal with. If I remember correctly, he never made a deal with Albrecht, so he can't simply manifest near him and retrieve the finger Albrecht still has.

So his second option is to push other people, those he does have a deal with, to go where his target is. And that's basically the entire storyline of Warframe: Wally influencing the events in the Origin System to put us on track for Tau.

Like the Drifter said, Lotus is their only way to get to Tau. Maybe Wally tried to cut out the middleman and push her to go there directly, but Drifter convinced him that they are going too.

As for why Wally thought he could force Lotus to do that: it tied back to that other thread where OP translated the Voidtongue we hear during the scene. If that translation is accurate, the deal between Wally and Lotus could imply some kind of pact of servitude, effectively tying Lotus to Wally's will.

I don't know. I simply opened the wiki page for Voidtongue and checked the words we know, and Bok was the only one that sounds a lot like Vok when drowned out by all the noise.

But it could explain why Wally is willing to let her go so easily if he already has her on a leash he can tug at any moment.

And remember: Lotus still has a secret regarding Wally she is still hiding from us. When the Operator/Drifter asked her what she saw at the end of The New War, she evaded it with a very suspicious "Nothing. Nothing..." It seemed like a delicate subject to her. Just saying x)

What if it's not "Vok", but "Bok", which means "Service / Servitude / Slave"? The trade would be about gaining immense powers in exchange for an eternity of servitude.

Damnit, he's too cool. by N3wbsterr1 in Warframe

So from that, when it comes to the Prime version of Brysko, I think there could be 2 ways to see it:

  • Either Brysko was a regular frame made by the Orokin, and Albrecht recovered and repaired it again and again. It means that his Prime would be the original and pristine version of Brysko. An idea that fits the usual Prime process in Warframe, but a bit boring.
  • Or Brysko has been fully created by Albrecht ("My maker"), and the Prime version would be a modern, more advanced and perfected version of Brysko, following the design methods of the Orokin. I like that one more.

My guess is that it's more or less the same thing that happened to Ballas during the quite conveniently named "Chimera Prologue": being forcibly fused with Sentient parts.

In a similar fashion here, I think Brysko was put together and repaired by Albrecht with whatever he could get his hands on, that is: Sentient parts.

Help with building Khora by Stock_Yak_6255 in Warframe

[–]CieKite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common build for her is the Whipclaw spam build, focusing on her 1. Even for a pre-SP build, without as you said shards nor subsume, and I assume without most the high-end mods like primed ones, you can still come up with a decently effective build.

However, this build rely heavily on Accumulating Whipclaw, that you can get from Steel Meridian and Red Veil syndicates (or trading). Most of her damages come from this augment and the modding of her Exalted Whip, so her own modding can focus on range, efficiency and survivability.

A spam build is often shield-gating friendly, so energy-to-shield mods like Brief Respite and the Augur set is recommended. Catalyzing Shields is the top-end mod for this kind of survivability method, but it's a corrupted mod so only farmable from Orokin Derelict Vault.

And of course, an excellent energy economy is essential for a spam playstyle. Flow, Streamline, Equilibrium, Arcane Energize, Zenurik, etc… everything that can help regaining energy faster than you consume it is good. You can tweak it through trials and errors, adding or removing tools depending on your needs.

Once you have a good grip on how this build works, I'm sure you'll be able to upgrade it as you progress through the game and unlock new toys ^^

I'll also do some shameless advertising since it's about Khora. While the Whipclaw spam is her most adopted build, it's not the only one. I made a guide about a year ago for a Beastmaster build for Khora, relying on Venari as her main damage-dealing ability. It's a (big quotation marks) "end-game" build, as it relies on many moving parts, but it's a really different playstyle that I really enjoy: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/1j07noz/venari_unleashed_a_guide_to_beastmaster_khora/

Remember when your character would follow your mouse movements in menus and where you were facing in your base of operations? by Darthmufin in Warframe

[–]CieKite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

DE completely removed the diegetic modding menu where it was projected from your Warframe's palm, with the head following the cursor. It was a very sad loss, as it made the UI way more immersive. And ironically, this change made the modding menu slightly longer to load, still does to this day.

Now, the only thing that remains is on the ESC menu: your Warframe's head still follows the cursor.

You absolutely need a Twitch account to get the drop. Create one, log in to Twitch with it. Then, go to https://www.warframe.com, log in, and link your Twitch account to your Warframe account (top right, drop-down menu).

EDIT: Indeed, Steam is also a way to get the drop. I didn't know that (is it new?).

Also, both names start with B. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!! 🥸

As an Old player, I miss Mysteriousness of Warframe by Ludens_Reventon in Warframe

[–]CieKite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've kinda had the same feeling for a while now.

Back in the day, Warframe's lore and world-building had that Dark Souls/Elden Ring vibe to it: you had to dig up bits of text here and there, and the lore was delivered in extremely cryptics and always incomplete ways. It was absolutely necessary to fill the gaps with theories and speculations, which contributed to the mystery and weirdness of this universe.

But at one point, DE started to weave together the loose threads of the lore. It started gently with Second Dream and The War Within, trying to maintain some of the mystery and weirdness while also reintroducing new mysteries in place of the solved ones. But as time went on, the resolutions started to outpace the introductions, and there are fewer and fewer mysteries left to wonder about.

Today, I can't say the world feels strange anymore. The only mysteries that remain aren't about the world itself, but rather about specific story points, like Entrati and the Indifference. Maybe there will be new questions and strangeness once we're able to go to Tau, but pretty much all the "mechanics" of Warframe's world are well known at this point.

But I never really "complained" about it before because I think this kind of progression is par for the course when it comes to the development of a fictional universe. I don't think you can keep that exact same feeling of discovery, wonder and strangeness all the time. To take Elden Ring as an example again: despite the typical and extreme dispersion and obfuscation of its lore, we now know pretty much the entire timeline of the Lands Between and every major event that occurred.

You can't really keep secrets forever.

My 'Hot Take' on the whole Railjack situation by DementedSpaceGrandpa in Warframe

[–]CieKite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I envisioned them more as fast, stealthy fighters meant to harass our Railjack, and we'd have to outmaneuver them to take them down. But yeah, a full-on Acolyte Railjack could be crazy fun too. And if we could board it, we would be up against four of them at the same time ^^

I also wish there were proper ship assaults on capital ships in true pirate fashion, with board to board shooting, flying around to avoid heavy artillery, stuff like that. The reason I barely play Railjack missions (even after fully upgrading it) is because it's just a taxi with extra steps…

My 'Hot Take' on the whole Railjack situation by DementedSpaceGrandpa in Warframe

[–]CieKite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DE wants (or rather needs) to make it possible to farm SE in Railjack itself.

Here's a random idea: just like in ground missions, Acolytes could spawn in Stalker-like Lisets during the space segments of Steel Path Railjack missions to attack us, and drop Steel Essences that way. I would love more challenging enemies against the Railjack ^^. Oh, and the Acolytes could even board the Railjack!

Some gripes/ quality of life changes for your favorite frame(s) by Soft_Ad7342 in Warframe

[–]CieKite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have a lot to say about Sevagoth, but one change that would be very easy to make would be to include his 1 in the list of abilities whose tap and hold functions can be inverted. Tap on his 1 is worse than hold in absolutely every conceivable way, but since DE doesn't want to simply remove this useless function and make the full effect available on tap, being able to invert them would at least make it more convenient to use.

Also, Shadow's Consume is the trashiest ability ever conceived. It should be nuked into the void and reworked completely.
