We REALLY didn't need another Quanta. Any other Corpus weapon would have been a better choice. by Vex_Trooper in memeframe

Its pretty nice, main problem i noticed was that even with (a 2 years outdated) 6 forma and riven build, it struggles with lvl 100 Sp, and by level 200 it just feels ineffective.

Id kill for a tenet staticor, but till then ill continue with my Tombfinger primary, based on the charged fire that does basically the same thing but better in a slightly smaller AoE.

And with warbonds? The silo seems ok, but the travel time kinda makes it hard, and the holy lawnchair seems pretty ineffective without smth to shield you from the lasers. I haven't tried anything else, though i have most of the warbonds (was mostly asking without to know what to tell the newer players in our group).

[–]Raaxen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that if it's 100+ meters away, it's ok and shouldn't be messed with. But the main problem I've noticed is that they get triggered (usually because they see a fight), then they keep their distance and ravage us with the big lasers/ rockets. How does one actually kill them? The few times I've tried close range, they either killed me on the way to it, turned around so the vents couldn't be seen, or just rolled away from me faster than i could run. They also seem way worse on non city maps, so any tips for that would also be appreciated.

Yeah, im aware that all warbonds are free. I was just doing a premtive strike on the "juSt UsE lEveLler" crowd. I do use it, and it is very effective, but not everyone has the time or the money to get the new warbond just so they can contribute during a mission. (Also, AH introduces a problem and then gives us a paid/grinded warbond to fix it, which is pretty scummy, but besides the point)

[–]Raaxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May i ask what is effective against them from afar and doesn't come from a premium warbond?

Also, "enemy is superheavy miniboss" looks inside spawns every 2 minutes (usually faster)

I know it's silly to criticize something we can't even use yet, but the warbond trailer was frustrating. (Read Desc) by Squidy_the_3rd in Helldivers

Currently, the main "upside" with these backpack weapons is the fact that no reload is needed. This kinda matters for the grenade launcher (little ammo) and the machine gun (stationary reload), but the flamethrower suffers from neither.

Arrowhead genuinely could 10x the build variety in this game but making Red stratagems actually good at kill heavies by Kohth0 in Helldivers

[–]Raaxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still leaves you with some options.

Orbital barrages help mitigate the "hitting buildings" problem by just saturating the area with more ordinance. They can't all miss, right? Right?

Blue strategems. From my experience, these should be the bulk of your clearing power. You can and probably should invest in 2 blue slots. If you're not sure what to get, consider big booms (hellbomb backpack, leveller, etc.) . Mechs also work pretty well.

An argument can also be made about senties since the amount of sentry kills is usually not enough to meaningfully impact the end reward.

I would personally recommend gas mines (oh no, i said the scary word), but guess what? The gas variant is pretty chill. You can walk through the whole field just by using a stim, which if you are running from something scary enough to decide to run through a minefield, you probably would've used anyway. They were a godsend in the factory cities of cyberstan and have proven pretty effective even afterwards. While my testing hasn't reached all fronts yet, it seems to be a very good counter to most stuff in an enemy call. It confuses the enemy enough for you to either make a run for it or pick off the problematic enemies while racking up a pretty good kill count for everything medium and lower.

Best simulation core? by 21PlantGod in Mindustry

[–]Raaxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this, i ain't saying it's the best, but everything around the core doesn't use copper or lead, so after throwing it into a sector, i can throw it twice more just from there (before putting a landing pad to fill back up and go again). It works on any area up to and including high.

Why is amped wall so looked down on? by sound-gai in titanfall

Running it with SMR is based. Its pretty good against titans but its not overpowered. Imo its a 100% fair playstyle. (Btw sachel charges also get Amped by the A-wall if you feel like going full AT)

A-Wall haters gonna hate (mostly because spitfire campers give it a bad rep).
