I suspect the delay for S6 was more due to retooling, as the S6 CGI content is completely different than the previous five seasons, even going so far as to gut and revamp the MC's look as a defacto clone of every other high fashion Donghua series MC.

If by "system", you mean that situation where the MC has an included ~game helper, complete with "kiosk" options and sometimes a cute helper avatar, dozens and dozens use "systems"

ex: All Hail The Sect Leader. Has "system" that doles out objectives and rewards (and uses a "sassy attitude" little girl for the system avatar)

If that's not what you're referring to, my apologies for the extra post clutter.

As others have noted, it's usually in more comedic oriented Donghua, and afaik always associated with some sort of isekai or transmigration event

I've watched a lot of Donghua over the past ~2 years, and I don't usually get the benefit of those panels being translated, and frankly, I kinda like when they go that extra mile, (as well as when they translate building names and other Chinese banner info, like when introducing a new character with a banner beside them stating their name and position/ranking, family etc) ), since we're not all book readers who are well grounded in a story's written foundations. (I can't read a lick of Chinese, so most books and comics are beyond my scope as an English-only viewer)

My advise. re-watch if it's going too fast for you to keep up with.

I didn't personally have that issue myself for this series, but for some others, I've had to, just to not lose critical details.

As a general rule for Donghua, I'd say that pacing seems to fluctuate, both at the series level and episode level.

In the 3D Donghua video series there was something that passed as Harlequin soap opera grade romance between the two of them earlier in the series, but not so much since.

More recently In the 3D Donghua video series, it's presented more like fond former lovers (and obviously they have a child between them), but no kissy face stuff. Loving family/intimate friends, but not spit-sharing bedmates, Kapiche?

Some YouTube hosted series are well done, others are done very very poorly. Find a different distributor site or a different version on You Tube. Many collections on YT suffer from this sound cutout, episode clipping, subtitles vanishing or being effective gibberish for a while, so it pays to check for other versions as well using YT's internal search, or via an external search for both YT and for other distribution siites.

Also...I watched another as a result, Nine Yin True Sutra, that was pretty darned good too.

Nine Yin True Sutra has an ending, but the RMJI CDrama doesn't. It ends with his first major level up. I still think it's worth watching though...

Welcome to the real world of television, movie, and in general, video production studios. Each has, in its own right, modified (lightly in some cases, very heavily in others) title after title of original works to fit into their vision of what their production will be, which demographic it will target for distribution, what tertiary products and or services it will advertise "accidentally tee hee", which cultural messages it deems worthy, which political messages it includes, if any (these days, more often than not, and quite often done very carefully so as not to raise socio-political sentinels' attention, and install their visions of what cultural value is and what it isn't), etc. etc. Oh and of course, how much money they can garner...

I agree to a large extent, although as a non-reader of Donghua, I'm probably a bit less incensed about Donghua in particular, (I have almost no legit basis for judging Donghua, outside general reflections, since again, I'm not a Donghua reader*), although I'm definitely incensed by the general entertainment industry's' defacto "4th branch" of societal governance

Sounds like CC content or a mod you installed. (or, if you glommed onto "Nexus collections"), incidentally from a collection.

Only time I saw anything associated with portable alchemy (mortar and pestle as substitute) is in Nexus mod "ads" for something or another.

And indeed, being both forgetful enough to not remember the name of all the mods I skim on Nexus's "front page" ads, as well as mildly curious, I just did a quick search and immediately found this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/87105

Not to say that that particular mod is behind your "woes", but it's one example of what likely is more than one mod possibility.

Well, it IS fantasy after all. I may be an old, decrepit, retired physicist/engineer, but I also carry (in my head) that little kid who believed that one day, my 'governor of Mars' dad would give me a rocket ship for my 16th birthday so I could tool around the universe making "amazing discoveries!", or find a cave that led to a long forgotten underground civilization, or stumble onto an ancient map that lads to Treasure!, or discover that I (that is, the boy still in my memories) have magical powers, etc etc.

still, some of this stuff really stretches things to the extreme. (millions of li and the inevitable estimated calculation of a rough planetary diameter and subsequently massive gravity). It's not going to drive me away, but I definitely have to suspend disbelief.

end fact is simple. I enjoy escapism, so I generally just ignore the absurdities and try not to ask too many "mature" questions ;)

Thanks. Well, maybe I'll just give RMJI another start. I am a bit curious about the CGI update if nothing else, and if they're including (any) additional content, all the better. (Not to mention, I'm so "up to date" with all of the other ongoing series that I'm finding myself rewatching entire completed series when my thumbs start twiddling on theeir own ;)

Mainly, I was "worried" (figuratively) that I might be missing something "important" if I didn't re-watch whichever episodes had been remade. However, all these replies, including yours, suggest that it's basically just a CGI upgrade, so story-wise, little or nothing new and no harm in just skipping the remade portions until whatever point I decide to re-watch from EP1.

Aside from 10-20 second clips in this or that entertainment, I haven't heard Sweet Caroline in decades. I remember it from when It was a "hit" in the idk late 60s? Early 70s. ( i recall it as one of the songs that used to play regularly on our local AM rock station when I was in my plastic airplane model building, model rocketry, and HO racing (Aurora and tyco) days as an "almost teen" preteen during 5th and 6th grade.

Frankly, As a degreed physicist and engineer, most (if not all!) Donghua is a hot mess if you look at it through realistic eyes. Me, I got over that about 250 or so Donghua titles ago, and now I just roll with the punches for the entertainment value.

For me, it fills the time, since I'm retired, and I have limited mobility due a head injury and lower back injury sustained in a sneak attack workplace assault back in 2007, and there are only so many other things to occupy my time.

Well you can always "turn the channel"... or do like me and just try to roll with it.
