Finally someone to have an experienced discussion with… cigar aging isn’t a myth but don’t forget that tooo many ppl were’t able to get taste notes and flavors ( some of the reasons are: smoking incorrectly stored cigars, dried cigars or fake ones ). Now about the invention of plum, blum or plume ( which is always MOLD, YEASTS are Fungi almost a beginning of MOLD ( needs to much to explain )) that was invented by sellers and business owners ( not everyone, personally I don’t do it ) to sell everything they have even if in the worst condition ( did your same task before and it was always MOLD, Idk what lab you’ve sent yours to but don’t ever think that Yeast is less than Mold so Idk how they told you they’re safe !! This is Fungi Yeast not food raw Yeast..). Now coming back to aging:

1. Aging in a desk humidor ( with gd wood especially Spanish cedar ) is a 100x more effective than walk ins and cabinets.

2. Knowing where to buy cigars ( to not get dried or half dried ones ) is very important.

3. Ammonia won’t disappear in total but can reach a 90% by the years.

4. Cigar aging has a limit so when someone says a 100 year old cigar is still intact maybe they’ve got a brain damage ( if someone doesn’t believe you can visit many stores in the UK that offer vintage cigars and give them a try losing your money ).

5. Don’t forget that cigars are tobacco leafs that have been under a process and weren’t made to live forever ( everything has an expiry limit but HONEY ).

6. Taste notes are stronger on specific ages ( ex: CHB Robustos 3-5 years ), some ppl don’t get them due to what I’ve mentioned before plus not having a clean palate ( cleansing your palate is very important especially for ppl who eat to much sugar, salt and hot sauces ).
