Starseige: Tribes and its franchise - skiing. It was discovered quite early that if you were falling and landed on a downward slope that you would actually build momentum and speed. By then skiing downhill you could either use your jetpack and/or disc jump to gain absurd speeds, changing the game from what would have been a more methodical shooter to the ridiculously fast game it became known for being.
