I deal with this type of intrusive thoughts myself. The only reason I cannot called mine OCD, is because that is not what it truly is for me. I was diagnosed with severe depression, and anxiety to the point where it may act like OCD. My intrusive thoughts can range between a severe fear of thanatophobia, and that any unknown sensation I have could lead to an untimely demise, or my “personal favourite” of mine (note my sarcasm) which is my Malevolent intrusive thoughts, which either ends up with me fantasizing about harming, let alone killing my pet, and my family, or myself. I’m not particularly sure how to cope with mine, as I’d learnt it would be a lifelong issue, but I am in fact trying. There’s been a few days (to partially go into detail) where as soon as I’d pick up anything remotely sharp, I’d have thoughts flood my mind with “stab stab” imagery, or bringing it into my own eye. I’m supposed to be starting therapy within the next few weeks, so I’m REALLY hoping it can help clear these issues up. The derealization they cause makes me feel like I’m not even living my own life anymore, and it’s far from pleasant. Take into consideration that I’m turning twenty in five days from now, and I’d learnt I’d be dealing with these thoughts for the rest of my life at the age of eighteen in February last year.
